I've noticed a disturbing trend lately. No games are offline multiplayer anymore. I suppose I should have noticed it long ago, but I just figured one would come out eventually. But it never happened. Please, B8, share your wisdom with me.

I was at a Gamestop the other week and this guy talked me into buying Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. I asked him specifically if it had Offline Multiplayer. He said yes. It didn't.

What are the best offline multiplayer Xbox 360 games that support two players?

Not really into Fighting Games, but I might get the new Street Fighter game anyway.

I was considering Halo Reach. The only problem is, I've never played a Halo game before. Shocker! Will this be a problem, story-line wise?

Here are some I already have.

Fable 2
Fable 3
Marvel Ultimate Alliance and sequels
Scott Pilgrim vs The World: The Game
Burnout Paradise (SO hard to find an offline racing game)
DBZ Fighting Game
Guitar Hero Games

Is that really all? Man, help me out B8. XD

Reach is a prequel, and there's a rerelease of the first game coming in November (the vs. multiplayer will be Reach, but Halo's good for co-op).

I knew it was a Prequel, but I considered that maybe that means I wouldn't have had to play any of the games since the story-lines of those hadn't happened and wouldn't be relevant. XD

The Forza games have offline multiplayer, but they are not everyone's cup of tea, as they are pretty unforgiving.

...what? By saying "Reach is a prequel" I'm saying "You don't need to have played the others." It does lead directly into the first game and has kinda-spoilers for the main trilogy, but nothing you wouldn't expect.

Staying away from fighting games, there's also Borderlands, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2, Call of Duty 4, Portal 2, Resident Evil 5 (though I will say, the splitscreen on this is ridiculous), and on the downloadable front Sonic the Hedgehog 2, TMNT Turtles in Time, Doritos Crash Course (bonus: It's free), Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Perfect Dark, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

Sticking to games I've played locally myself, that is, I'm sure there's much more.

I've heard not very nice things about Borderlands. How is the two player in Portal 2?

And would you recommend Halo Reach or Resident Evil 5 for my co-op shooting pleasures? I've played both of those games briefly before but I don't remember well enough to make a decision. I'm still thinking Reach though.

Thanks you guys.

terrorists hunts in Rainbow Six Vegas 2 are some of the most fun that I have had in co-op gaming period

I also recommend Blur, for motor mash, Call of Duty Black Ops, Halo 3, PGR4, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 1+2, and Borderlands

You've heard wrong. =P Very addicting, though splitscreen is a little bit of a mess due to poor menu planning.

How is the two player in Portal 2?

Very enjoyable. I haven't gotten to play the free DLC test sequence yet, though.
