I've been running this annual contest for about five years in the Anime and Manga boards, but this will be my first time to make a contest in this particular board. I'm new around these parts, so I don't know what to expect here; hopefully sunshine and rainbows, and a decent amount of participants.
Welcome, users, to the (un)official GameFAQs Top 25 Anime Songs contest. Last year, the contest was simul-posted across three A/M boards, and the results were better than I expected. It was a '90s bout between Evangelion's opening theme "Cruel Angel's Thesis" and Cowboy Bebop's ending theme "A Real Folk Blues", but ultimately, "Cruel Angel's Thesis" became the no.1 song of 2010 by a marginal amount. Amusingly enough, Eva's opening theme was in second place for 2009's contest, so does this mean this year will be Cowboy Bebop's second finest hour?
It's up to you. There's a slew of new anime this year with plenty of catchy themes, and there's still plenty of recurring favorites trying to make it to the top; maybe an unexpected newcomer will be the next no.1 song. Anything's possible.
Once more, this contest will be simul-posted across three boards, now with this board involved in the contest alongside A/M OT and Social; I hope you guys'll be gentle with me. The contest will be split in three portions: The Prerequisites (nominating the songs), The Ballot (picking the songs), and The Results (self-explanatory).
THE RULES
- 1) You can nominate up to ten anime songs, but no less than five {i.e. 5-10 songs, if I'm not being clear} - 2a) Be sure to include their song titles, the anime where they're originated, what type of themes they are, and their numerical versions {ex. ""Renai Circulation", Bakemonogatari OP4} - 2b) English language themes of anime are now eligible {i.e., "Rock the Dragon", DBZ} - 3) If you're going to add more songs or replace existing ones, either edit your post within its first hour or delete your old post and make a new one with revised choices - 4) Once an anime song has been nominated three times, it'll be registered into the voting list; the song will then be nullified from any future nominate post, so please choose something else - 5a) Anyone with under 300 Karma ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONTEST {this will be the rule most of you won't like, but I stuck by it} - 5b)...unless your user account is made before October 3, 2008 - 6) No ALTs
This portion of the contest will be closed within one week OR the 50th nominated song is added to the list. I will occasionally update on what songs are added to the list, and to warn users with inadequate nominations.

Heads up, "Sousei no Aquarion" was already locked into the ballot. Once it's in, there's no reason to nominate the song again. You can replace it, or just leave it alone but it'll be nullified.
