Was going to post this. Good...she was obviously not guilty.

This is a story I took a fair bit of interest in, since I went to the same university as Meredith Kercher, and so it obviously featured quite prominently with students there. I can't help but think the Italian police have failed both sides somewhat here, either by ruining evidence that tied Knox to the murder, or the reverse scenario, where the true killer may be completely unidentified after 4 years.

Rudy Guede? He claims partial responsibility but said he wasn't actually the one to kill her. Of course, he could be lying, but whilst doubt remains it can't really be put to bed. You have to wonder why he would insist on not being the direct killer if he really was, considering he's already effectively serving the sentence of a murderer anyway.

Well my wording was that she is obviously "not guilty". I didn't say obviously "innocent" (though I also happen to personally think she is innocent). The reason she seems to be not guilty is because the DNA evidence: (A) Tampered with; (B) Tended to show that she is not guilty. It's not like the Casey Anthony case where she seems blatantly guilty.

I'm happy about this.

I like seeing people walk free (even casey anthony, although i'm more ambivalent about that) and a) Knox's guilt was in serious doubt and b) I highly doubt she'll be any danger to anyone after this.
