Thanks Yankees. Not laying down for the Rays. Now we just have to hold this lead on the Orioles! Seems like the best way to do that is to score more though, as I have no confidence in our ability to stop them from scoring.

Also, repeating this prediction: if we meet the Yankees in the ALCS, we're winning 4-1.

I've got nothing against the Red Sox, but damn it if there are two things I love in baseball, it's extraordinary collapses, and Game 163s. And if I can get both of those things together? In both leagues? Hot damn; best season ever.

Just like expected, the Rays choke it away. Put on a great show of it, but when it comes down to clutch time, they can only manage one measly hit against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre pitching staff.

I take it "we" refers to the Yankees? Your first two pitchers in this game made their major league debuts this month--the starter didn't even have a full inning of major league experience entering this game. And Tampa couldn't muster any offense against your minor leaguers.

yanks didn't bat all their minor leaguers today, albeit they're good too some of them. And Scranton/Wilkesbarre has been known to muster up, as Pawtucket does, GOOD pitchers.

A miracle? Hardly. You're right, the series with Texas could go either way, probably the full five games, but it doesn't matter because whoever wins that series will be lucky to get more than one win in the ALCS. Tigers far and away the best team in the AL right now imo.

i agree, the way they've been playing they have the talent all around to win the AL. But the Yanks have played VERY good down the stretch, beating better opponents, and have a better offense. I know you're a rival fan, but even the Tigers fans here have been saying they don't want to face teh Yanks in a short series.

Those are the ALs two best teams. Texas has offense, shoddy pitching, boston is in sheer disarray, tampa bay is a minor league team with good pitching (i say this and choke, thanks price) and new york is an offensive muscle with a great backend of the bullpen and 2 good pitchers.

Anything can happen, Detroit should be the favorite, but NYY should not just be cast aside lol. Not a bad team at all.Z

No, not at all. Your lineup was all major-league.

Still rooting hard for Texas to beat the Angels tonight because I don't have confidence that Cleveland can make a comeback and whichever of us faces Texas at least stands a chance of making the second round. And with the pennant probably out of reach, I'd settle for outlasting the Yankees in the postseason.

Detroit and New York mirror each other quite a bit. It's why I wouldn't pick one over the other right now.
