Why did you need mana prisms? Were you not using survival mode?

I did all my grinding offline because I didn't want to tie myself to someone else. That and having 2 Master Rings is better than 1. Not to mention I got a few of my Jonathan subs to 9 by farming the Fuma gear.

This games seems to have died pretty quickly. Probably since all the DLC was available you could get most of the base game's best stuff in them far easier in chapter 10 and 11 which is why no one plays anything besides 10 and 11 now just like the 360 version.

Chapter 11 is basically a huge middle finger to people who grinded Chapter 3 Hard (such as myself). Now the only thing you can get from Menace alone is the Heaven's Sword, which is a Normal mode item.

Even better are the Berserker Mail and Simon's Plate.

Yeah, back before the chapter 10 was released chapter 5 used to be one of the busiest chapters, now that beseker mail and Death's Robe are enemy drops on normal chapter 10 there's no reason to go there anymore unless you want the ancient armor or Death's Scythe (which sucks.)

There's also no reason to play chapter 2 hard anymore since Muramasa and Thief Rings are so much easier to get in 11 normal. 1 and 4 never really had any good drops but Soma could just cruise through 4 and get Gunger easily anyway. All of 6's stuff is obsolete except for Dracula's Tunic and Simon's Plate which is an enemy drop now.

Death's Scythe is pretty cool, plus it's also Soma's second strongest weapon behind Claim Solais +1 right? There's also plenty of reason to play 1-6 (save 3) because of boss souls.

Wait aren't Chaos Rings Menace exclusive too or can you get them in Ch 11 as well?

I got a chaos ring on 11. But on that note, where can you get Nebula besides Hard 3?

Also I've seen a lot of normal-stage games. An abnormal amount, sometimes outnumbering Hard runs.

Chaos Ring and Nebula drop from Ryukotsuki on Hard. They drop so often you'll be sick of them by the time you get a Muramasa +1 or Yasutsuna +1. Normal mode Ryuk drops the normal Muramasa and the Thief Ring, making Puppet Master obsolete except for the Holbein Dagger and his soul.

Right now I'm trying to get dual Val +1s from The Count so Ryuk dies faster, but that too is taking forever. I HAVE snagged 4 souls (and like 15 regular Drac souls, which inexplicably appear in his drop pool), the Claimh +1, and the Feather Boots though.

Lucky day for me! i got a second Valmanyway and Yatsuna +1 and 2 Fuma Armors from the same purple chest!

Chaos Ring is as common as God's Garbs in 11's boss chest, Nebula as well, through if you can beat chapter 11 hard nebula is most likely garbage.

And Death Scythe sucks since most enemies resist darkness and DLC enemies resist slash. No reason to really ever use it over CSolaris.
