Defense Grid - I was pleasantly surprised by this one, got a whole 11 hours out of it before moving on, and I'm a TF2 addict so it's hard to pull me away from it. Not a huge fan of tower defense but I appreciate a good game. My GF and I got 50 hours out of Plants vs. Zombies, though, so that's a pretty important comparison.
Revenge of the Titans - Didn't like it at all, however, I did not give it more than an hour's chance.
Bit.Trip Runner - I love the Bit Trip series, I haven't played the last two games (this is the fourth). Of the four I've played, this was my second favorite. It's hard as heck, but forgiving. Keep in mind, however, that the gameplay isn't extremely interesting. It's a guitar hero isomorphism, and without chords. It looks great, it sounds great, it's fun, but it's pretty easy to get sick of. You either do the level perfect, or you make one mistake and immediately start it over.
World of Goo - If you somehow haven't played this, you definitely need to get around to it. It's a work of art and just unbelievably fun. All of my friends have played through it on my wii and had a blast.

I've been playing Revenge of the Titans since it was in early development so I'm kinda bias I guess, but I really like it. Haven't really played it a whole lot since all the new patches though.

I'm wary of buying steam indie game bundles; a humble bundle is always around the corner.
This. Considering that I have 2 copies of Osmos, 2 copies of Crayon Physics, and 3-4+ copies of World of Goo, I'm not exactly feeling confident in my buying decisions with indie games when they are not in a Humble Indie Bundle.

hahaha, well, the levels are usually less than a minute long, so you only ever have to go back to the beginning of the level. That doesn't sound forgiving I guess, but in the other bit.trip games, each level is about 30 minutes long, and if you mess up big at the wrong time, it's just over altogether. then again in those games you sort of have a health meter, so it's arguable which one is forgiving, and what that even means.

Tempted on that Genesis collection....but I already got the Ultimate one on PS3 and I'm not exactly dying to be able to play it on my computer at any given moment.

alpha protocol is great stuff for 2 yeah. also don't get the full sega pack. just get pack 4. it has streets of rage 1 and 2, shining force 1 and 2, gunstar heroes, and landstalker. only one other pack's worth something (Vectorman notably as the highlight, but it's got an Ecco in there too), but just pack 4 really stands out for having multiple great games.
