I really hope Celestia actually does something in the next episode. I know the elements are now under control of Twilight and company, but still, she could at least help. I've recently come to the shaky realization that Celestia might be my favorite pony, and seeing her doing nothing upsets me more than it should.

What I'm most curious about is what they end up doing with Discord.

I mean, hes not good turned evil, hes just evil.

Is it back to stone for him?

in theory, thats a bad plan because the mane 6 probably only control the elements for their lifespans, and I wouldnt bet any but Twilight have extended lifespans(Twilight is OP). That may very well be where they go with it.

Personally, I think the episode should end with Luna banishing him to the sun, but thats -probably- not happening.

Still not sure she even has the power to do anything here. I mean, discord predates Celestia and Luna(Though, maybe they still controlled day/night back then, its not clear), and hes more powerful than both of them combined(Celestia+Luna+Elements > Discord, but Celestia+Luna < Discord). I mean, in theory Celestia could have gained power since then, but considering Discord got the elements without Celestia knowing, and that Celestia is sending the mane 6 out instead of doing anything herself, its probably safe to say Discord has a pretty big edge in power over her.

Also Discord has displayed the ability to nullify magic, though if he could extend that to Celestia is unknown.

Most likely, Celestia is helpless here, but I could be wrong.

Also someone beat me to it but, she could always try and fail.

I mean, we were promised more Luna, then eventually it turned into "Luna in season 2 guys sorry" so I'm assuming the ep originally referred to was the second of these eps.

It would be interesting if Luna shows up then gets HYPNOPONYd back to Nightmare Moon (or perhaps it will show a flashback of how Discord indirectly caused the Nightmare Moon event.

I wouldn't be surprised if Luna winds up giving an assist being all like "yeah I was evil and stuff but then you guys showed me why friendship is important and now I think friendship is awesome" and that inspires the cast to rally together and defeat Discord or something. It would be kind of appropriate with the season 1 villain helping defeat the season 2 villain. I don't think she'll get hypnotized back into Nightmare Moon, this episode's all about Discord, and it would be incredibly awkward character development to have her change back to evil when we don't even know what she's like when she's good.

ok then maybe he HYPNOPONY's Celestia after the mane group recover and Luna has to get through to her while Discord trolls.

I think the Cutie Mark Crusaders are gonna defeat Discord. That's why they were so heavily featured in the intro. Discord can't turn them against each other because they ALREADY make fun of each other, push each other around, argue, etc. Despite all that, they're still the best of friends, and it'll blow Discord's mind that unity can still exist within chaos.

And despite saving the world, they still won't get their cutie marks.

Someone else pointed out to me how they were playing the beginning of the episode with the CMCs and how that would lead to them solving the problem in part 2, and I'm starting to buy into this theory. It seems pretty sound, even if it's kind of painful to imagine the CMCs actually solving a major crisis.

I am not buying into the CMC theory at all.

Also considering the craziness started up after their scene, they should be back in ponyville not doing anything.

I'm pretty sure it was just a scene for an intro to stone discord, and to get Cheerilee+CMC exposure.

I'd be shocked if they do anything important.

I think the CMC theory is pretty plausible actually... they ARE the most chaotic ponies pretty much, there has to be a good joke somewhere in there if Discord tries to mess them up. Still, if anything it would just be one scene or something on the side for laughs, the mane 6 will still be the main heroes.

Break after Discord eps further confirmed. Looks like Discord ep part 1 re-airs the week after part 2. With that I'm guessing they'll air part 2 the week after(Who wants to be cliffhangered). That probably means at least a 2 saturday break, though of course it could be more, we dont really have a way to know for certain yet.
