lets get rid of the big Least and all of its whiner fans once and for all! this would be so awesome for these reasons if it happens:
1. basketball goes from being the current #2, historically #1 conference to currently #1 and historically a league of its own 2. football... a consistently good to great team in pitt joins football along with a syracuse team who is slowly but surely recovering from losing mcnabb like 15 years ago LOL 3. lacrosse gets even nastier with the addition of syracuse! the acc would then have like, every great team in the sport except for johns hopkins but no one really cared about them ever 4. getting so close to the magic number of 16 teams means we will step up our pursuit of schools like texas and become an even more dominant conference! 5. most importantly....the death of the big east and its babyfied fans!

Except where the part where every lacrosse fan cares about Hopkins in one way or another.

a consistently underachieving team in pitt imo. We have never played up to projections during the 00s. But ya for pitt basketball we only underachieve during march madness, so its less depressing to watch.
Divisions don't even really matter that much in lacrosse. Most of the improtant bids are the at-large ones anyway and when Syracuse is good they'll make it into the playoffs and if not they don't all the same.
Plus I don't see Syracuse holding the (still current!) record for most consecutive NCAA tournaments made (among D1 schools anyway).

they definitely have been UAs but they've still been good! and they've had great talent so they can hopefully put it together if they were to join a more prestigious conference
Oh and at JHU's stadium, at least the home side of the stadium is filled to capacity pretty much every game. Granted its not a big stadium but I'm not just talking about students here.

by care i mean that we never really got up for their games as opposed to the times when we stopped our lives for ones against duke and s***
they are like the san antonio spurs of ncaa lax, they are "good" but nobodys gonna be goin out of their way to watch them when they come up on the schedule
Ah alright. Yeah among students maybe because they're mostly taking rivalries from other sports and wanting to beat them there right?
Hop has a huge alumni following though , and I mean its big enough such that they've hosted more NCAA championships than any other team or place. M&T Bank Stadium has always had the largest crowd for Championship weekend more than any other place and its because of how important lax is in that area. And Hopkins is clearly the biggest lax team in Baltimore. Sure theres Loyola and Towson but theyre not on the same level... and Maryland is far enough away , but if you want to count them, Maryland-Hopkins is considered to be the biggest rivalry in college lacrosse.
...so that sounds like a lot of people caring about JHU lax to me.
Hell, I've even looked at like forums and **** that talk about lax nonstop (mostly when bored at work). The hopkins one is always like 200 pages with the next largest being say UVA or Maryland at like 30 pages over the courseof one season.

And I was imagining that hopkins was more like the Celtics where Syracuse = Lakers. Hopkins is historically better and have more of a legacy but Cuse has a pretty solid legacy too, and are doing slightly better as of late.

Jesus christ this conference realignment s*** really needs to stop, it's getting completely out or hand. Or it got out of hand already and is only getting worse.
Man sess you always think I'm not chilled... I'm just passionate is all. Double posting is how I talk anyway, cuz I don't like editing and I think superfast
I'd rather not spread the stereotype (or w/e the right word is here) that lax fans don't care about hopkins. Maybe just students at other schools dont sometimes but I've from what I've seen JHU games really inspires more passion among lax fans then others. And the media loves JHU, they;re always the team that gets the most TV lax games (though all TV lax games are on like ESPNU until postseason)

yeah in all honesty I'd rather the whole nation not get shaken up like it has been, but if it means the death of the big east then it is all worth it. If these schools do join, I wonder who the last two will be to make the ACC superconference? from what I've seen on espn/all the insiders these are the main options
texas other big least schools like louisville/WVU/uconn, but I would personally love to see them go to somewhere like CUSA just to spit in their faces. i would definitely love TCU tho notre dame richmond

pretty much this. Its just consolidation of sports. Small markets will only get screwed.
like... I understand why they want to do it. But they shouldn't . Realigning causes so many muckups that even when you get through it all what did you really accomplish. More balance in MLB but perhaps less in NCAAs? Auto qualifiers can be pretty dumb and this seems like itll exacerbate that
