One thing that sucks about the internet is people that feel the need to spam the same, dumb words and phrases over and over. You mostly get it in online games, but it tends to spread to message boards as well. Luckily, we don't get that stuff around here too often. You should be happy you don't play DotA.

you are the first person on gfaqs that ive seen agree with me on this. Props. DotA RUINED the warcraft 3 custom map scene. Absolutely correct.

And herp derp is just another one of those 4chan memes that became popular everywhere else. As funny as 4chan is sometimes.....some of the things they do are really stupid too.

DotA ruined an already bad game. DotA is a far superior game. The community though, yes, it's terrible.

War 3 sucks, the custom map don't, but because of DotA good luck playing any of those custom maps.

war 3 sucks in terms of "its not starcraft". War3's story and gameplay arent terrible, but they are just trash compared to SC.

And i miss the days of creativity like murder in panda mansion, video game RPG (such a good custom map), blixel's TD, enfos, warlocks, etc.

Man all this is doing is making me hate DotA even more....screw dota.

You know you can actually just host those maps if you want to play them, right? I haven't played in like 2 years but when I did there were still enough of those fun custom maps, even if 80-90% was dota

Oh God, so many good War3 opinions in here.

Although I did quite enjoy War3 campaign, but the multiplayer is fun once in a while but still nothing compared to the custom maps.

I like this topic.

DotA is a fun game, but the community is the worst in any video game. The other maps were amazing (always loved the Doom map, Panda Mansion, Mauls, LotR maps), and they are completely extinct these days.

I think the reason I hate Dota the most is the community.. I actually never got to play a single game because I was always kicked as soon as I entered a room because I couldn't pass the '' pro test ''.

I think it's a legitimate reason to hate the game.

If you didnt have the current version of dota downloaded, when you joined a game you would start dling it and hosts had programs that would kick you automatically.

its kinda a shame because sc2's custom scene is really lagging. Its over a year old, and there are still only like 5 custom maps that are heavily played, and they are all pretty primitive. They have made an elemental TD though, and its pretty solid. SC1's custom scene was great, but the map editor was kinda weak (although it was excellent for 1998).

But ya, the blizzard custom map scene peaked around 2002 to 2004. So many good TDs, arenas, random maps (again, i have to single out panda mansion), and rpgs (again, i have to single out video game rpg).

Anyone remember the tome hunter game where you gathered as many tomes and items on the map in a few minutes, then had duels to see who was the best hero?

Woah, people talking about WC3 up in here. I used to host a a plethora of games including Wintermaul, WMW, Angel Arena, Stronghold TD, Green TD, Footies, and Battleships. Now the custom game playlist is clogged with auto-hosted Wintermaul One and DotA (especially this) games with the occasional Footies 5.4AR or Vampirism. I have the inability to host here at my college so I don't really play anymore. The custom scene is such a sad place now.

I've been seeing it on GameFAQs for about a year, but I just started to notice that pretty much every board except this one says it. Other sites I go to don't really use it but I stay away from a lot of bad communities.

It has gotten pretty popular in the last year. It spread to people in my high school saying it out loud and now it just irritates me every time I hear it.
