Also, this is the first game I've preordered since Brawl. I think before that, it was Persona 4.

Maybe because it's closer, but this has surpassed my anticipation level of Uncharted 3.
More bosses, larger area(s), more weapons, more armor more everything. Demon's Souls is a great game, and this will probably be better in every way imaginable.

Yeah I'm incredibly hyped for this game. I'm sure my brother will get Uncharted 3 so I'll probably just play his and pick it up some other times. I really want to get Saints Row 3 as well, but I don't have the money.

I didn't make that much progress in Demon's Souls. I got through the beginning, but then it just opened up and the enemies were so much different that I had no idea where to go next. When a game like that is supposed to become even less linear, I just don't know what.

It's open, but it's really not. I mean, you get to choose when you go down a path (in Demon's Souls), but you're mostly just walking forward on that path, and there are waypoints and stuff.

Demon's Souls is funny in that the level progression (or game progression) is rather open-ended and it doesn't hold your hand with that whatsoever, but the levels themselves are extremely linear. The levels are designed linearly, but the game is not.

Dark Souls seems to have much less linear level design, though the levels all interconnect and there are still separate areas.

I think the only levels of DS that didn't strike me as completely linear were 1-2 and 3-1, maybe even 3-2 to some extent.
