And on top of that, how often do you clean it?

I ask because I used to be messy as hell, but over the past year I've started to get flat out angry about my room being a mess and I give it a pretty thorough cleaning/organizing once every 4-5 days. Been once a week since school started, but I try to keep up on it. Vacuuming/changing the sheets/organizing the desks, etc.

How about you?

The problem with this theory is that you can't spontaneously have a girl to your room if you don't clean it often enough.

Although seeing who I'm talking to, having girls in your room is quite likely a rare enough occurrence that you can let your room go to s*** ;)

I would love for my room area to be super clean, but me and my girlfriend are both messy, and she doesn't like to clean at all, so it's usually up to me, which is no big deal, buuuut... I'm just lazy and don't clean as often as I would like to. It's also difficult because we have a cramped room down in a basement, and I don't know, just something about it, no matter how much I clean, I feel like it's never clean. It sucks.

I'm a pretty neat person, so if I organize my room is usually stays that way for a while. Actual cleaning, like vacuuming, dusting, changing sheets, and what have you. Once every two weeks, unless something happens wear I feel like I should do it sooner. Like if I have a girl over and we end up doing the horizontal monster mash in my bed, I would wash it the next day, etc.

Oh, ShadowHalo...

Yeah yeah, I'm sure you read the first sentence and stopped there, the truth is, she's a messy person, and I'm lazy, so if I don't clean, then no one does. And I'm actually an organized person, and I want things to be done my way, so even if she were to clean, it wouldn't be good enough for me. Which is why it doesn't matter. Overall the room we live in is just crappy no matter what I do, but I really need to get off my lazy ass and keep up with it. I think I'm gonna have a "super clean" some day soon, which happens once in a while, but when it does, I clean everything and make it look spotless. I love when that happens, because then I have a nice clean area, even down in this dump, for a few days.

But oh god there's just so much trash on the floor, under the couch and under the bed... ugh.

This is one thing that I use to be really bad at that would drive me absolutely INSANE now.

Back when I was with my psycho girlfriend, we'd have sex in the bed and get the sheets dirty and leave them there for a long time. Like, the sheets in her dorm room that we basically shared didn't get washed for weeks and had stains on them and oh my god

In contrast, my best friend brought his kids over and one of them is a 4-month old baby. He had the baby lying on my bed for about twenty minutes total and I had to wash the entire bed-set. Comforter and all. It's not like it was some filth ridden baby, I just had to clean everything after a strange thing was in my bed. >.<

I'm not trying to upset you here, but it's honestly laziness. I'm guilty of this too, obviously.

That ten minutes I spent vegging out on board 8? I could've emptied the trash, taken care of the dirty plates. How about that 30 minutes I spent wasting time on Twitter? I could've moved the stuff off the shelves and dusted/wiped them down.

It takes time to be productive and clean but it's worth it.

None of your rooms can possibly be as bad as one of my friends'. One time he borrowed my sweatpants and I went to his house to go pick them up and the entire floor was covered in a pile of laundry (i have no idea if it was dirty or clean) like two feet high, and then there was so much trash everywhere that it was unreal (his house is borderliner hoarder territory tbqh)

Mine is usually always clean and organized. Sometimes I'll have a piece of clothing laying around or something, but that's about it. My bed is always made(for the most part anyway), floor gets vacuumed once a week, I dust about every month. I think it's just more habit if anything from when I was a kid and my parents always made me clean...>_>

the worst part isn't being lazy

it's being consciously aware you are being lazy and then feeling bad afterwards because you were lazy

I tend to keep my living place somewhat clean, but I feel weird when it's super clean. If I've just cleaned up everything in my apartment, I'll usually put some random books on the furniture and toss my laundry in a slightly disheveled pile in my bedroom just because my style of "organization" is to put stuff in places that make sense to me instinctively but follow no real pattern, so if stuff isn't a bit scattered, a room doesn't really feel like I've lived in it.

Shut the f*** up dude, you don't even know me or her or what my life is like. I straight up told you that even if she were to clean up the room, it wouldn't be good enough, because I want it done my way. If I told her to clean up, she would. Believe it or not, I'm not a pathetic little person that's only ever had one girl pay attention to me, but I also don't like to brag about my life and I don't like sharing details about it, because there's no point since no one believes that I'm actually a cool person in real life, why would they? I'm such a nerd on this board, there's no reason to suspect I'm actually telling the truth, so why bother.

Point is, regardless of what you think, my life is still probably better than yours.

Has nothing to do with life quality. Literally only has to do with holding her to high enough standards that says she picks up after herself.

Because if she picks up after herself, it's that much easier for you to clean up when you want the room the way you like it. Know what I'm saying?

I don't pick up after myself either, and I hate being a hypocrite. We don't have a trashcan down here because even if we did, because there's really no room to put one, so we have to walk all the way upstairs to dispose of trash. Which means we just leave it on the floor until we go upstairs for some reason, but even then, we often forget to grab something to throw away and it just keeps piling up. Which is why there's trash everywhere. It's really both our faults, but even if she wasn't living here, it'd still be this way.

Yeah see I'm not trying to impress anyone in specific anymore, which had been my motivation for the cleaning I'd do once every five months when I was a teenager.

Now I've gotten to where it pisses me off if stuff isn't clean.

Aforementioned best friend with the children is a slob, and he comes over and leaves s*** all over the place and it makes me want to choke him how unaware of things he is when he gets something out and just leaves it there, or throws candy wrappers on the floor.

I put up with it because I don't mind it! A clean room is fine, but I'll be the first to admit it's not a high priority for me, especially because I can mostly find things. My car is also a gigantic mess, for the record.

I keep my car pretty damn clean. There's some mess here and there, but after being driven around by my sister in her car so much when I was in high school, I swore never to treat my car the way she did hers. My god, easily the messiest, most filthy car ever. There was trash EVERYWHERE. It was difficult to sit in the passenger seat because there was so much s*** on the floor and all around that I was pretty much scrunched up against the door. And there was absolutely no room in her back seat for a human being. Ugh.

So yeah, my car is clean and it shall stay that way. My girlfriend's car is actually pretty messy too, and she has a habit of leaving trash in my car too, but I don't let that fly at least, because I don't leave trash in my car, so I don't let her either.

I've always been organized with pretty much everything that isn't my room, oddly enough.

You're seriously kind of grossing me out Halo >__>
I don't know how people can stand living in filth. I lived with 4 room mates over this past year that never cleaned or vacuumed or put anything away. The fridge was a mess with old food. Ants everywhere. It was vile. I was the only one that ever cleaned, no matter how much I *****ed and moaned at them. It was seriously the worst, and I couldn't keep up with it all. But it really doesn't take much effort at all not live in garbage.

I also had a basement room last year that was 7'x10' and I had no problem fitting a measly little trash can in my room along with my bed, desk, dresser, mini-fridge, tv, all my clothes, all my school stuff, etc. So. Really? Really? You can't fit a little trash can in there someplace?
