Curious -- have they changed the AI at all? In previous Disgaea games if you were out of range of enemies they'd just sit there until you came close. Kinda was silly.

Even though I haven't played it (and don't even have my PS3 hooked up at the moment), I love it.

Aw, that's pretty sad. I love Disgaea's out of combat stuff (so. much. stuff.), but the actual combat seemed like it could be better.

Either way, I don't have a PS3 so this is doesn't really matter!

By far the most obsessed I've ever been in a Disgaea game! Skipped 3 since I just got a PS3 but eh.

Yeah, you can. There are a couple cameos but that's it, the story is never connected.

Finally figured out the main point of duels. If you defeat someone, you get a transmitter that summons their pirates to your pirate world to aid you. How long they stay depends on how decent their ship is. Not sure what most of the ship stats mean except for capacity and length though x_x

Also, has anyone managed to get any bond other than Lover? Lover's easy if you make your healer a leader, but the others.. argh. Especially Twin. Thought you had to fight 10 battles or stand beside each other 10 times wearing the same stuff, but I haven't gotten it yet.

Up to chapter five now, btw. This game just keeps getting better and better. Fuka and Desco top tier.

Augh I was doing item world last night and I went into a mystery room to fight a Lvl 20 dragon guarding 2 chests. I opened one with a prinny bow and figured I would get the other on my next turn, but then I killed the damn thing before I could get a second turn :_;. I didn't think I was that strong augh

Yeah those guys are weak as hell if you're not doing an item on par with your levels D: get two gunners and shoot both chests first turn, imo.

I am just near the end of Chapter 3. I think I m trying to level too many characters because now I seem at a disadvantage during every level. What are some good tips at this point in the game?

^ I think there are some early grinding maps but don't think any of em are really worth it till later

I'm on like 10-4ish. At this point, I've started power-leveling instead of finishing the main story. Valvatorez is Lvl. 200 and Desco is 250ish. Everyone else is in the 125-175 range.

5-2 is the best training map; send a guy with 5 movement to the right, chuck the block to the left, destroy it, and then eat everything alive with... a party member you don't have yet probably >__>

Uhh, before then... powerlevel Val, boost your healer's Heal spell to where it becomes AoE, learn to cancel movement so you always get Fen's Evility active (+30% to all stats for standing next to Val is no joke at all)...

Easy way to get more experience; lower two monsters to near death. Throw one onto the other. Their levels will be combined so you'll get exponentially more experience, but their health will still be low.

Use skills as much as you can, it'll make them more powerful in the long run.

Magichange and Fusion gives experience for all parties involved; it's a great way to level monsters. The base monster in fusion gets their skill attack radius expanded and a human gets more skills with a magichanged monster.

Pass the More Expensive bill every time you can, there's almost no reason not to. Early on, it just diversifies your selection in goods.

When training, ALWAYS make sure whoever you're training (probably Val now, later on it'll be the other party member) is on both the training grounds and mana pyramid evil symbols. You'll be glad you did!

An easy way to get level 1 party members a few levels is to bring them out right before a match ends and you have a decent bonus gauge going. They'll get any +exp bonuses.

Go into the item world up to about level 11 of any item and you'll run into some pirates. Defeat them, Gency out (or go to level 20), and you can pass a bill which gives you pirates. Dunno if you've already got them unlocked, but I know people who've beat the main story and never got them, so just throwing it out there >__>

Zetta is level 4000 that's all I know, also I found the most fun way to powerlevel early game is the item world, just level up your accessories/armor or items if you want to transfer innocents from them to your armor/weapons. When in the item world, kill the innocents you run into, and enter into the mystery rooms, but when in the mystery rooms, if you talk to anyone multiple times at one time (usually 2-3 times) they'll attack you, so be careful.

I think I went from level 380 to something like 450 the first time I did it. It even leaves two guys so you can get lower levels up to non-s*** status. This is just amazing.

Is there any downside to reincarnating a story character at level 1 repeatedly if you're using Genius? I know you get bonus aptitude. >_>

Assuming it's anything like the previous games, just the fact that you have to grind back up.

But if you're reincarnating from a high enough level, you'll probably have higher stats long before you even reach your old level again.
