My speech is in two days! Keep the criticism constructive, please. No trolls allowed. Anyways, here's what I've got so far:

Hello everyone, thanks for coming here today. My speech today is going to be about the history of video games, and how they are influenced society throughout the ages. I'm going to talk about how video games started, how they evolved through time, how they changed shape and increased in quality, how they changed and grew, and how they came to be in the form that we as a society know today. I will also talk about how these video games shaped the world that we as a society know today.

Now, as I'm sure you're all aware, a video games started in the mid 80's with the Nintendo Entertainment system, or NES for short. Now, the Nintendo Entertainment System was made by Japanse video game developer Nintendo, and it was a homemade console that allowed people to buy cartridges from stores, and play the cartridges with their Nintendo Entertainment System. This technology was rivaled by what is known as Arcade gaming, or ARCG for short. Arcade gaming was a popular gaming trend that was popular in the 1980's, around the same time as the Nintendo Entertainment System was popular. The Arcade gaming system was a gaming console which we as a society could only use in public video gaming stores, as the actual Arcade gaming systems were too physically large to carry home with us. They were about 150-200, and 6 feet in height, while the Nintendo Entertainment system only weighed a few ounces. We as a society would go to a local merchandiser to buy cartridges for our Nintendo Entertainment System such as Pong, Frogger, Mario, Metal Gear Solid, and Mike Tyson.

Next, The Nintendo Entertainment system was then followed by it's successor, the next system in the Nintendo line of systems, the 2nd Nintendo, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, or the SNES for short. It was called super since "super" is the pronoun most often used to describe the technology used to make the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. While the Nintendo Entertainment System used a monolithic 8 bits of RAM on it's graphics processor, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System almost doubled that, with a massive 16 bits. This allowed for an increase in graphic and visual quality that some would describe as being "super," hence the name of the system. This era of video games provided a giant boost in popularity, as games like Mario, Legend of Zelda and Kong Country became mainstream success stories that we as a society used as a leisure activity with all of our friends, in large video-gaming parties, with multiple players at once. This was a massive change from the previous era of video gaming, where video games were a socially unacceptable activity that could only be carried out in isolation, or perhaps with people watching, but not actively participating. We as a society saw video games being used in hip media productions like Beavis And Butthead, and MTV, and it became a pop-culture phenomenon that we as a society could enjoy, and be proud of enjoying. As bands like Motley Crue and Nirvana came out, society started to become "grungier", and we as a society started.

It's only a 5 minute speech, so this is where I think I'll end it. Any comments or suggestions you guys have would be much appreciated! :D

Introducing what your speech is going to be about is a no-no. Also that won't last 5 minutes unless you pause for a few seconds after every sentence or something.

I actually read the whole thing and it's pretty funny, but the ending is too forced, I think. It needs to be more subtle to fit with the rest of the speech.

Hello everyone, thankyou for coming here today. (My speech today is going to be about the history of video games, and how they are influenced society throughout the ages.)* I'm going to talk about how video games started, how they evolved through time, (how they changed shape and increased in quality, how they changed and grew)**, (and how they came to be in the form that we as a society know today.)*** I will also talk about how these video games shaped the world (that we as a society know today.)****

* My speech - is, no need for 'today' unless you are delivering more speeches on other days. This is your speech, period. "How they are influenced society" is a mess. How they have influenced, how they are influencing, how they influence.

** There shouldn't be two 'how they changed' lines in the same list. It may be better with, "how they increased in quality, how they changed and grew," or, "how their quality and shape changed, how they developed and grew."

*** It's too wordy with too many prepositions. to be, in the form, that we, as a society. What is your main intent by this statement? Are you going to define the state of video games in the present as well? "Present form" would be better, but not perfect. This statement is clunky and needs work, but it is a great capper and finish to the list in content. You may also like adding something regarding the future. For instance, "present and the future" or "and beyond," depending on how this develops.

**** "that we as a society know today" is just a terrible phrase. Get rid of it. Maybe even get rid of this entire last sentence as it's essentially the same as the final point in your list. You don't need an also if it's already covered. If you intend something else, make it clear that it's something different.

Now, (as I'm sure you're all aware)*, (video games started in the mid 80s with the Nintendo Entertainment System)**, or NES for short. * Who is your audience and what is this class? If this is a class involved in video games or entertainment, it has some merit. If it's towards and English class or something uninvolved, cut it completely. Either way, cut it completely. Making assumptions on the audience's part is no-no.

** Before I even read further, I'm already discrediting you. Arcade gaming, Pong, Atari; they all came before Nintendo. If your audience is aware, they will tune you out early as well. Perhaps you meant 'modern gaming' or 'video games were popularized' even though Pac-Man Fever infected society years earlier.

*** ...Ffffffffffffff...

Well played, good sir. Well played.
