Athos/Cielo/Ganondorf/Agahnim/Fury have challenged Neku/Red/Sigma/Garner/XIII to a fight! Location of the fight: Desert - A barren, empty wasteland, completely devoid of anything save sand, sand dunes, and more sand. Which side will win?
Guidelines
- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.
- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.
Rules for Voting
- Bold your votes (using and ).
- Provide a justification for why you think the selected team would win. Fanboy logic, ignoring character assumptions or rules, and vague or unintelligible justifications are all grounds for having your vote disqualified.
- If you want to switch your votes simply bold the change; there's no need to delete your post, though you may if you wish.
- This match will end in 24 hours.
Agahnim has all of his abilities displayed from his endgame fight in LttP, where he gets two shadow clones. He can be damaged by other means that reflecting his magic back at him.
The Fury is as he appears during Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. He brings to battle his rocket fuel powered flamethrower, his flameproof suit, and his jetpack.
Ganondorf is as he appears in the final boss fight of Twilight Princess, wielding his large sword. He also possesses flight and the ability to shoot balls of dark magic at his foes (both as seen in Ocarina of Time), as well as his Brawl moveset. Finally, he may transform into and back from his Beast Ganon form as seen in [A Link to the Past/Twilight Princess] at will during the fight.
Cielo is as he appears in Digital Devil Saga 2. Regarding spells and skills, he has all his gun skills, Void spells, elementals up to Ma_dyne, Xanadu, Wicked Curse, non-revival healing, non-ID Hunt skills, Chi Wave, Power Wave, Executioner, Megido, Megidola, and all buffs and debuffs. The only passive skills he has are Phys Resist, Resolution, Death Resist. He may freely turn into any of his 3 forms - demon, human, or the hybrid.
Athos is as seen in Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword, a Level 20/20 Archsage. He has Forblaze, luna, nosferatu, gespenst, bolting, excalibur, purge, luce, and fortify. In addition, he knows and is a master of every magic spell possessed by all his allied fighters participating in the battle as well as those possessed by Garner, though only of their base forms, before abilities or transformations take effect.
Red XIII is as he appears in Final Fantasy 7. He has access to his best non-broken equipment and all his limit breaks. He has access to only healing/status spells, buffing/debuffing spells, and offensive spells, including Comet 2 and Ultima. Red XIII has used his Lunatic High limit break at the start of the fight, giving his team both Haste and a defense buff.
Neku is as he appears in The World Ends With You, with his player pin and functioning as if he had a pact with someone. He has access to his Blown Kiss, Leo, Zangatsu, Lightning Pawn, Speed Factor, Creepy Weepy Barrier pins. Due to Neku's player pin he's able to read the minds of people near him, though how well depends on who/what it is. Neku may additionally implant "Admins" during his mind readings.
XIII (pronounced like the number 13) is as seen by the end of XIII, possessing all of his skills and wearing the Heavy Armored Vest and Heavy Armored Helmet. He has access to a couple lockpicks, his Grapnel, 3 Full Medkits, the Microphone, two HF transmitters, and the Shotgun Microphone in terms of gadgets. As for his weapons, he has his M60, Pump Action Shotgun, and Three Arrows Crossbow, as well as his MInigun, Sniper, Combat Knives, Hunting Shotgun, Brick.
Daniel Garner is as he appears in Painkiller and its expansion, wearing the heavy set of armor and armed with all his weapons. He cannot turn into a demon. He has the Silver Cards Forgiveness and Health Regen, a Quad Damage (somehow), and the Gold Cards Rage, Rebirth, and Triple Haste equipped. The Silver last the whole fight, Quad lasts 30 seconds, and the Gold lasts for 30/50 seconds. Each of the Gold Cards and Quad can be activated at will.
Sigma is as he appears in the Mega Man X series. Specifically, he's in his Belial, Final W, and Reaper forms. All forms must be defeated, and he can change at will between them somehow, with each form's condition exclusive to itself. At no point is he invincible.
Cielo can fly faster than Garner can run, Everything Garner has Athos and his clones have plus THEY are also Cielo, and you didn't use the right Sigma ability so none of my guys are like that.

The Problem: Garner doesn't just move fast, he slows down other people too.
The answer: There really is none.
I don'r see anyone on the other team being effective against Garner nor do I see Athos being able to use the cards - if he can at all - effectively in comparison to Garner's use of them.
Athos/Cielo is a two trick pony that just got out pony'd. Garner's back up is also far better than their back up, with 2/5ths of Ganon's team being completely useless.
Garner with his buffs is the best merc on the field and is going to maim everyone but Cielo, Athos is awesome but is flimsy and just gets destroyed by Garner. Guns > old man durability.
Not really close, sadly.

Athos can transform into Cielo, so he'd have the same durability Cielo does. The cards are magic, plus Athos becomes as Master of them so he can use them just as well as Garner can. If Athos uses the cards, he'd slow down Garner if that's how they work, making it even easier for Cielo to get him.

Has he officially gotten items or has it been up to interp?
Admins usually leave things up to interp. My interp is that he doesn't, then.

Behold the majesty that is Doom. Feast upon his greatness, and know you will never measure up. http://img.imgcake.com/Punny/scenemaybecompletepngre.png - Hail
1. Athos copying Cielo's magic - From previous arguments, I'd say the demon transformation is magical in nature. But from what I understand, each DDS character has a unique demon form. So I think he probably transforms into demon Athos, not demon Cielo. Which is still pretty good (and a huge upgrade over base Athos). He's likely not going to be zipping around like a jet, though.
2. Athos copying Garner's magic - I'm skeptical about the cards being magic, but I don't know enough about how the cards work. You guys should argue about that or something.
If Athos gets the cards, GANON wins. If not, then it's pretty close.
-- another place and time, without a great divide, and we could be flying deadly high
I can't remember if there's any plot explanation for the cards. They're tarot cards you equip Garner with before the levels start in Painkiller that let him do different things

We are thought, and reality, and concept, and the unimaginable
Team Athos. Demon Athos with cards > Garner. (And there's three of them.) Cielo > Sigma. Garner/Sigma do have better backup, but it's not good enough to make up the gap.
-- another place and time, without a great divide, and we could be flying deadly high
Way I see it, Aghanim goes squish really quick, Red and XIII go squish next. Fury does some distracting with his big fireballs, then gets squished by Garner. Athos rides Beast Ganon across the desert like a giant horse, spams Garner's cards, hops off, kills Garner since he matches him and there are three of him. Sigma kills Cielo but takes a beating, Athos and Ganon finish Sigma. Team Athos

Lunatic High would be great if Athos didn't have the cards or you used the killing each other ability.
But he does.
And you didn't.
So Cielo is the naturally fastest thing here, and Athos with clones and cards and Cielo transformation dwarfs that. Those two alone could probably put up a good fight against those five, but they also have backup, which makes this easy.
Super Athos

Most people agree that Agahnim's shadow clones are a spell Athos can use.
I think it's funny that I'm usually one of the primary Athos hypers and I'm pretty undecided on this match. The whole enemy team being hasted + garner being hasted++ gives me doubts.
-- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
Agahnim can create two perfect shadow clones, and Athos has all the magic of his teammates. So Athos can create two perfect shadow clones, which can cast all his magic

boring and mundane signature Now with more bold!Less Italics due to bold
Cielo is by far, the fastest being in mercs and no mere human even with all the speed buffs in the world can come close to him. Cielo is so fast you'd get hurt just standing near him while he's flying due to the wind.
