- Today's news is about TGS lineups. Nothing too surprising, but Capcom, Sega, Namco, etc etc have revealed those lineups. Nothing exciting. Sony's is the most interesting, where they claim that there will be 18 unannounced titles at TGS. TGS is in two weeks. The most curious is the announcement that the P4 fighting game is going to be playable at TGS. That'll be something.
that's fair, Mad World is a sweet commercial but it doesn't really show what Gears 2 is about. and the real emotional gutpunch in the game has nothing to do with the sentiments of the song.
Fenix is probably the last guy to have those emotions tossed on him... in a world of ruin and combat, he's the most grizzled of space marines, he is perhaps the only guy who could probably consider this new reality a 'normal' life where he feels at home. interesting bit but there's 0 focus on it.

Donny: Are they gonna hurt us, Walter? Walter: No, Donny. These men are cowards.
If we're going after disingenuous marketing, I think there's some much bigger targets then Gears of War.
And I like the trailers, but at the same time I kinda wish they'd stop trying to pretend Gears of War is this deep, intelligent piece of work. Its big space marines with f***ing chainsaw guns fighting underground mutants and cracking one-liners. Every time it tries to go for emotion, it just looks stupid("I hurt Sarge :(", everything about Maria, etc). That said, from what I've seen of Gear of War 3, its storytelling looks to be the best so far.

You know who's sexy? Black Turtle, the 2010 Games Contest Guru Winner, that's who!
I don't know much about MW3 or how Elite is being handled, but if they are doing an Elite membership gift card thing that people could buy for Christmas... yowzer
