So I never played Wrecking Crew or NES Open Tournament Golf (just played the normal "Golf")

Seems they're included both Zeldas and not more than 1 Mario to focus on the Zelda 25th anniversary. Although technically Mario is in....4 of these games. Maybe 5...I forget if he was in Yoshi or not.

EDIT: Oh yeah now I remember duh Mario was holding all the stacks at the bottom. So he is in 5 of these games.

GBA games probably won't be known until the week those come out and who knows when that'll be although the original Metroid's inclusion here probably lessens the chance of Zero Mission being one of the 5 unknown GBA games

StarTropics was never released in Japan, so they presumably would have needed to translate it first. Impractical for a free game.

It's obvious they're withholding certain games because they'll be able to sell them on the VCH. Overall though it's not really bad list. It's not really a good list either. Pretty much even in distribution of real games worth playing and just throwaway games that you'll play for 5-10 minutes at a time. However because of the nature of those throwaway games you're more likely to play them on a handheld when you only have a limited time to play something.

Like I could totally see myself playing a game of Yoshi while i'm on break at work

I'm kind of sad that I didn't get around to buying a 3DS when the ambassador thing was announced, I just didn't have the money for it. I'd love to play some of these games on a portable system.

I think this is the first time NES Open Tournament Golf has ever been available on another system. That's actually really cool.

Also, Yoshi and Wrecking Crew freaking rule. Just sayin'.

This is... about what I expected from the NES games, really. Was hoping for Clu Clu Land and Donkey Kong 3, but ah well. (Well, was really hoping for Punch-Out and StarTropics, but in terms of realistic choices...)

Zelda II's an unexpected choice though. Maybe now I'll finally be able to beat it.

Zelda II is one of my favorite Zelda games, even today. I still find it fun to play.

Wrecking Crew was an interesting choice to me. That was a game I LOVED as a little kid, because I could make my own levels in it. I don't think it holds up very well now though.

not too impressed, but not lackluster. all these seem to be first party too unless i'm missing something, making me believe that we're definitely gonna get an Advance Wars game.

F-Zero, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Golden Sun, Kirby, Pokemon (Pinball maybe), Zelda LTTP or Minish Cap, Mario & Luigi, DKC, Mario Golf, and... that's it for the series/games. not a bad batch actually, it'll be hard for them to make the GBA list NOT look good. fully expect Golden Sun 1 (they can then put GS2 on the market and force people to get it if they want to finish playing the full game), a Pokemon game of some kind (Pinball makes the most sense i think), Advance Wars, a Kirby game, probably DKC1, and a Zelda game.

and of course, Japan will get Mother 3.
we won't.
we'll get Mario Golf in its place.

You have to go to Menu -> Settings/Other -> My Downloads. At the bottom it'll list the Ambassador games and you can "redownload" them.
