So I was thinking about starting up another Board 8 Fantasy Football league since I wasn't in any leagues, but then I came up with a crazy idea that I thought could be pretty interesting and perhaps revolutionary!
In this league, all positions are flex positions! You will not be tied down by position restrictions, you can draft whoever and play whoever you want! Well, except for Kickers and Defenses/Defensive Players (it would have been cool if I could incorporate IDP into the Flex positions, but they would have to be strictly separate so I decided against it). There will be 12 starting spots with 4 bench (to help from people getting disadvantaged by having more injuries/byes in a certain week). I could make it 10/6 if preferred to give more strategy in starting/sitting.
Additional scoring rules include .25 point per reception, 1 point bonus for 40+ yard plays, 2 point bonus for 300+ passing yards, and 3 point bonus for 100+ rushing or receiving yards (not combined yards).
14 team Yahoo! online draft is currently scheduled for Tuesday, September 6th, at 8 PM ET. I might be able to be flexible with this time, I'm going through a transition right now and thus have no idea what kind of times I'll have available over the next couple of weeks.
I've never done anything like this so I'm really unsure of how things will go. If you think you have a suggestion that will be better, feel free to share it.
Made some changes to the scoring set-up to balance the league a bit, since it seemed to turn out that QBs were way overvalued:
* Removed the 1 point bonus for 40+ yard pass completions (1 point bonus for 40+ yd rushes and 40+ yd receptions are still in) * Bumped PPR (points per reception) from .25 to .5
There is one restriction to be aware of: I could only put a max of 5 for each starting position, so I put 5 QB/WR/RB/TE Flex, 5 WR/RB/TE Flex, and 2 WR/RB Flex. Therefore, you can only start a max of 5 QBs. With 32 starting QBs and 14 teams in this league, hopefully that shouldn't be an issue.
I don't know my schedule two weeks from now, but honestly, Tuesday would probably end up being the best day for me regardless as I think about it. I'll sign up and try to work my schedule around it. Shouldn't be too hard, hopefully.
Seems fun. I'm in. The league could kind of suck if a lot of people don't show up to the draft, though. The last B8 draft I did had all 14 people show, so hopefully this one goes as smoothly!

This sounds crazily awesome. Unfortunately I limit myself to one team per sport per year and already have one, but man, interested to see how it works out.

Well I'm at my Grandma's right now. My area got hit pretty hard by the hurricane. No power back at home, and honestly I wouldn't expect it back any time this week. Lots of trees down on power lines over here, I have no idea when I'll be able to get back on.

We're at 9 now, Wigs said he would join, I just sent him an invite. That leaves us with just needing four more. Hopefully I get electricity/internet back by the time we draft, but I really don't know. I just tried to change the draft from Tuesday to Wednesday, but for some unknown stupid reason, I can't set it to start anywhere between 6 and 11 PM ET, so I'm keeping it on Tuesday at 8 for now.
