C'mon, its UC. I can't be THAT bad. Subpar compared to 0079 and Zeta and some of the other shows in that time period, but not as bad as say, Seed or Seed Destiny

Episode 14 and 15 of Zeta are amazing. The scene where Amuro and "Quattro" talk for the first time on the Garuda is pretty much awesome. It appears the only person Char will drop the act for is his old rival.

Char: To laugh at you.

This is some episode... breaking Gundam conventions on the first episode! The OP/ED is good, though can't say the same for the music that plays during the rest of the episode. I can't get a feel for the series yet, it's not blatantly kiddy. It also doesn't try to be too dark, though I'm wondering if Flit's constant mentioning of his mother is supposed to be the "dark" part >_>

I agree. I like the OP and ED a lot. I thought it wasn't bad, but the characters feel too flat.

It feels sort of like Gundam Lite for Kids, which isn't of itself a bad thing. I just don't care too much for the UE and REALLY hope they're just a faction of humans from Earth or something. One of the things I like about the serieses I've watched is that they're really humanize battles. Having a bunch of non-human enemies would suck.

My four year old nephew just watched the first episode of Gundam.

After he watched he said the following:

"Your show is really good, Uncle."

I asked him what he liked about it and he said

Easy to follow story, colorful, and sad protagonist.

Kamille is happy to oblige when he knows a chick wants his dick. Amuro is completely oblivious. He could have been hitting Fraw AND Sayla all through the One Year War. And by time he realizes girls like him, its too late and he's stuck with Beltorchika

i am hoping this as well. I like that Flit is more like side- series protagonists like Kou and Shirou than like the mainline protags. Its pretty neat to see a protag actively identify with the military from the start.

Thing I love about Flit is that he isn't exactly like the cookie cutter protagonists we are used to. This kid isn't whining, he's just straight up there to fight and he has resolve. He doesn't go through the "I don't want to be a pilot" phase that a lot of the earlier Newtypes went through.
