well true but it's still frustrating to put my ipod on shuffle and then have stretches of eight minutes where I can't hear anything

Took the words straight out of my mouth.

You can always go into the audio files and turn up the gain if it really bothers you that much, but please please please don't actually do that. I feel dirty for even bringing up such a barbaric idea.

step 1. buy better headphones
step 2. don't listen to classical music on an ipod shuffle
