I watched that show a couple of times. It always seemed ridiculous how often people would find such expensive stuff, and it made it look worthwhile. But I guess in the back of my head I knew most of the estimates were BS.

The worst is Dave who just goes through whatever he buys and is like "I'll charge...$100 for this, $125 for that, etc. Well, looks like I've made a $1000 profit"

Despite the fact that his "profit" is just whatever he decided to price the stuff at his store and likely, most of it is never bought.

To be fair, it was really a couple that hit it off(Pawn Stars and American Pickers) and others started catching on. Storage Wars is the only other one I really like, because the rest kind of miss the point and become just drama.

And I don't consider American Restorations one of those shows.
