Ehh, use updated visuals IMO. It isn't the art that is a draw about DX anyway.

I'd say go for new vision. Original visuals are kinda ugly.

Sadly, new vision doesn't do anything to help the blocky character models as far as I know.

The graphics aren't THAT dated. They aged pretty decently unless it's like your first old game and you're not used to blocky graphics. It looks way better than FF7.

But the main issue is that the old graphics engine is kinda *****y to get running on Win7 and DirectX and such, so if it's easy to install the new vision stuff then just go for that.

Hey all this is Bartz btw.

I'm playing now for the first time, almost done. Sadly, New Vision came out since I started playing so didn't get to use it.

That said, there's some other stuff that might be useful (somebody on here linked me to http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/ceuyh/step_by_step_moddingguide_deus_ex_i_spilled_my/ ). There are some things that fix glitches and give experience for certain things that make sense and make certain things more balanced.

Of course, the old school Deus Ex fans are probably more knowledgable than me about good mods and such.
