Some points of interest-
Doom Bringer stats are the same from DotA
The 63 damage he has is average-does it mean they will always deal set damage? or it's just to be easier to see?
In Both screenshots-there are 6 slots for hero skills
In Nevermore case,it's because Shadowraze takes 3 slots
In Doombringer case-it's because he can get creeps abilities
But what does it mean about other heroes,will they have 4 slots or also 6?
You can't see final stats (unless dragging the mouse over nets a new info screen) it is base stats+stats from items
Hotkeys are conflicting-in Nevermore it is QWER,in Doombringer Devour is E like in Dota
Also what is Doombringer item in the B slot? Quelling Blade?

This one I can explain, it says in the FAQ on the site that there are multiple control options. One is the LoL-ish QWER, another is classic DotA, and you can even map your own custom controls.

I'll just be using classic DotA controls since although they mostly don't make sense and are completely different based on whatever hero you use, they're engraved into my soul forever. I'll check out that link when I can.

If it's a 1:1 port, like it probably is, with just updated shiny graphics, matchmaking, and stat tracking, it will be the best.

I'd want to guess it's an old screenshot. During alpha/beta they were releasing champions over a period of time.

I really hope so anyway. Having unlockable heroes could really screw with the game since DotA team composition is heavily based on counter-picks and synergies, so having the full roster available to you is pretty important.

There is zero chance of this. It would change the game way too much. Burst casters are intentionally strong mid-game but then start to lose burstiness as the game goes on. Instead, casters can buy items that give them valuable disables (turns target into sheep, for example) to contribute to their team toward the end. A caster isn't meant to be able to dominate throughout the game. They do their job by crushing the opposition during the mid-game to give their team a huge advantage going into the end-game. They can easily decide the game if they do a good job.

A well built INT hero (depends on the hero) can destroy people even late game. Though some stupid heroes (Spectre) are just annoying to deal with, no matter how good your items are.

LoL snowballs more imo, which is why you see less comebacks.

They can happen though. Any ace after the 40 minute mark probably results in the game ending, so if the winning team makes one mistake it will end.

Depending on how well you win the team fight, after a certain point in the game you just win the game by pushing, depending on which champ you left alive.

Although to actually win a teamfight by that much when you're behind by 25 kills would mean the other team royally ****ed up

I was under the impression that some of their heroes are just taken from anime (Lina Inverse) which would make them intellectual property, no?

They've reworked the heroes that could give copyright issues I believe. Lina is now just called "Lina" and her spells probably are renamed. Heroes with names related to WC3 things have probably been changed as well. I'm sure they're jumping through the hoops they need to jump through. They already bought the rights to the name "DotA" I think when they were challenged on some stuff, so they're well aware of the legal stuff I'd imagine.

yeah but they aren't an independent person dealing with an entire team. If you're getting a pentakill by yourself in LoL or without the help of at least 2 or 3 members of your team the enemies are doing it wrong.

Yeah, honestly. Pentakills in LoL are more of a "right place at the right time". I mean sure, you could be fed at that point and doing lots of damage, but even still, it's REALLY hard to get one lol

Yeah, getting like, a quadkill in LoL is either "I got all the deathblows because of dat timing" or "I went in while so fed that I singlehandedly won the game for the team", which is possible, if rare and more dependent on being pro at positioning than having immunity items.

Yes, but the high-stakes tournaments are...two or three IIRC. Each of them is likely to have a pool of 1mil, maybe 1.5/2 for the season capper. The smaller leagues will split the rest of the cash instead. Valve is going for the EVO model, but Riot is going for a more consistent setup.

on the same note, I think it's quite dumb that a caster can be allowed to dominate all phases of the game like in LoL. autoattackers and other sustained DPS generally do not have that luxury, and often they're faced with having a weaker lategame than the casters anyways.
