I don't know what else to say other than "download the right drivers". It took me a while to find them (and there is no way I'm going to help look) but after installing them... it worked.

I have a lot of experience in this. Spent hours trying to get it to work the first I tried, by now I can get it working in like 5 minutes.

What OS do you have? For Win7 64-bit:
1. download the 6.03 whatever - http://www.motioninjoy.com/download
2. plug in controller
3. run DS3 tool and go to Driver Manager and do 'Load driver' for your controller which should install the drivers
4. do method #2 here, called 'cmd' - http://www.motioninjoy.com/wiki/en/install/64bit
5. reboot
6. get and run a watermark remover - http://www.mydigitallife.info/remove-watermark-32-bit-and-64-bit-universal-patch-free-download-for-windows-7-vista-and-server-2008/
7. reboot
8. profit
