Spoiler-alert, of course...but the game's not beaten yet, so please don't spoil anything ahead for me!
I finally beat Omega Ruins (and, in fact, kicked its ass because I over-leveled something major), and I've fought a few Sin-variations up to the Sea of Sorrow...
...so this is my end-of-game play-through topic now. It's been a great game so far, but now it must end. I might even try to finish it tonight if I'm close enough.

if you were overleveled for omega ruins you're going to destroy the final bosses, I wasn't even that overleveled and I overkilled most of them before they got a turn
Yeah, I wouldn't have recommended blasting through the Omega Ruins before beating the game. That's going to make the final dungeon too easy. Omega Ruins is post-game stuff.
I just sent Seymour...about time, too. He was little trouble, and I like my odds to keep the trend going. I'll play some more after Michael Ian Black's stand-up special ends tonight.

From: HaRRicH | #010 I was getting into that song too, yeah. I might find a place for that song in my current production of ONLINE FIGHTING (co-directing it right now).
Outstanding news in more ways than one!

Support Barret Wallace (Final Fantasy VII) for Character Battle IX! http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/3834/banner1barret.jpg
Speaking of great music and my play, I found a local DJ in town who specializes in 8-bit beats. We're gonna talk in the coming week about possibly performing live music during ONLINE FIGHTING, such as the on-stage game's music and character's entrances (think Punch-Out!!).
It might be the coolest thing in town if it happens.

I explored the majority of the next area, but ultimately stuck around the first gate where it was asking me to fight fiends. It was for a Level 4 Keysphere, which -- while nice -- might not have been worth the time. I can now breeze through this area tomorrow, and hopefully the rest of the game as well.

Superior Quick Hit is far more important than Ribbon (which often isn't even on recommendations for ultimate armour IIRC), if what you're concerned with is the power at your disposal in the aftergame. In NTSC at least, most attacks which inflict immunable status can either be tanked by an aeon, or by auto-life and letting them kill you (Ultra Spark may be the best example coming to mind).

I would hope so considering how overpowered you are! Although it does depend on which Overdrive BFA uses because he has more than one. The only problem with being overpowered is that it can make the duels against your Aeons take a while.

Winner of the Ed Bellis "save my butt" contest! ~*LB*~
Okay, fifteen minutes my ass. I've gotta get some sleep, but great game. 9.5/10, and it makes me want to try FF7 again to see if it's really that much better.

from what i understand, the best way to use kimahri is to teach him steal+use asap, then let him sit there gaining sphere levels, then teach him reflect etc way before yuna can
Character-rankings are hard because the characters' worth in battle shifted so much and each character had their flaws (often because of voice-acting), but here goes an overall ranking:
Auron (his speech before fighting Yunalesca sealed it) Yuna (f*** Tidus, it's her story too) Lulu (the most sensible to go to in conversations and my main fighter for a long time) Wakka (Quick Hit and Stonestrike made him balling out of control toward the end) Tidus (endearing when he's narrating, stupid when he's talking) Kimarhi (I get the apathy toward him, but he's alright in my book) Rikku (how did she almost beat Knuckles with Vaan in the poll?!)
Although there are a lot of great songs (especially harder-rocking ones), my favorite song has to be Yuna's theme; it has such warmth yet sadness:
I...don't really know what else you wanna know off-hand, so I'll answer questions for a few minutes too.
