6.5 - Haven't completed the game and played it a looooooong time back. However I remember the first game of the mana series to be quite entertaining but nothing special.

Geeez... here we go again. The Mana series are all considered Action-RPGs. My topic doesn't say Rate this traditional menu/turn based RPGs.

what separates final fantasy adventure from zelda

^ Ok. I don't wanna get into an argument regarding genres. Zelda is a cross between action/adventure and RPG. The focus of Zelda is more towards dungeons and items.

Take Crystalis for example. Crystalis and games like Star Tropics are kinda like Zelda but they are labelled Action-RPGs generally. Zelda is not an RPG according to the many arguments here on gamefaqs but I'd go on to say Zelda is only a few distance short of being called an RPG.

All in all call FFA whatever you'd like... RPG, Adventure, Action but the Mana games are generally considered as RPGs. Dawn of Mana is the only Mana game (which I've played) which has more of a Zelda feel than the rest.

Let me make this clear this topic is gonna contain all sorts of different types of RPG
i.e
Menu/Turn Based RPGs - Duh!
Real-Time Action Based RPGs
Action RPGs
Strategy RPGs

FFA is pretty much an RPG with no separate battle screen and a real-time battle system that lets you directly control your character. I mean, just look at the game. Experience points, levels, towns, and RPGish equipment system. It's clearly a lot further along the RPG spectrum than Zelda.

Oh, the rating.
