Did you ever think that maybe people enjoy the competitive side of dog-fighting, and that they're simply indifferent to the aspect of pain?

Also, "sociopath" isn't even defined as "enjoying giving pain." That would be sadism. Sociopathy is a complex web of behavioral characteristics that may or may not include thinking dog fighting is a hella good time.

Dog fighting is comparable to forcing two people to fight to the death.

Except it's, you know, dogs instead of people. You're operating under the assumption that dogs and people are equal, which is silly; people are obviously much better than dogs.

I suppose animals being my only real life friends does affect my opinion on this, but I'd consider dog fighting just about the worst thing someone could do aside from killing, raping, or torturing a human being.

So no, I'm not satisfied that Vick was adequately punished. If a serial rapist or murderer is released from prison, I'm not going to be okay with him just because he "did his time" and says he's sorry.

Don't worry, it won't be long until he f***s up again and then gets another second chance.

Yes. I would contend that, regardless of how remorseful they are, any repentance is more the result of being sent to jail for doing some wrong rather than for actually doing something wrong. They knew full well it was wrong to begin with and did it anyway.

To be clear, I'm not talking some one-off impulse criminal act. I'm alright with people being sorry for "oopsie" crimes, even for something as heinous as murder. But being a major player in a dog fighting ring for an extended period of time isn't some "oh silly me what was I thinking."

I'm against dog fighting and everything, but Ray Lewis literally got away with murdering a human and is loved because he's good at football, there's no reason everyone should be attacking Vick this much when he actually did go to prison and take his punishment.

The man has paid his dues and honestly, the punishment was FAR more severe than the actual crimes he committed. But this country is so ass backwards in animal rights, that people feel the need to b**** and cry and protest because a few dogs got killed.

No I did mean MWE. When he first popped up within the past year, I remembered his username from a long time ago but no details about him . The first few topics and posting sprees in other topics seemed normal enough and in hindsight were not at all indicative of him as a user, so I didn't understand the hate. Once I saw posts/topics in which he really made clear who he was as a user, I understood completely.

His apology is really null and void since it came after he was sent to prison. There's no reason to believe it other than personal opinion. If he'd turned himself in before he'd gotten busted? I'd be more inclined to believe him. He's a great football player, don't get me wrong but as far as human beings go he ranks down past the middle of the ladder.
