I want to play Valkyria Chronicles but I feel like I should knock one or two games off that I've already started first. Maybe after I'm done with Duke Nukem and L.A. Noire.

This is a must.

Yeah, this stuff gets more ridiculous than seeing later Advance Wars series things from the soldiers' perspectives. Great game.

As for squad suggestions, from what I can remember... Vyse, Hannes, and Jane for shocktroopers, Jann and Hector for lancers, Marina as a sniper.

As for how the bios work, once you have the journalist available, you can visit her. If she says "I sniped the rising star with a quick interview", then someone's bio is extended AND they have a new character potential that reflects that. Happens if you use that character in any battle enough, with killing units, grabbing them, getting turns, saving allies, that kind of thing. Really huge help on some people.

I liked it a lot at first, but the slow pace kind of got to me. I guess I just like shorter missions better for these kind of games since I love Shining Force. too many turns of just pure movement too got really annoying, especially times when you actually need a lancer "augh"

Concentrate on levelling your scouts, rush Alicia and Aika to the enemy flag, use grenades to force any defenders out of cover/crouch position, shoot them all in the head, capture flag. 2-3 turns max on most maps.

If you want to vary your strategy, you may replace Aika with another sufficiently cute female scout.

yeah I did that a few missions, but it just felt... cheap >_>. my favorite was one of the missions where a tank was near the end, and I just had my scouts run in and take a crazy amount of fire, yet still managed to capture it, but I just felt DIRTY afterwards. I felt like a lot of maps had something to prevent this strategy though, like the mission where I stopped was the one where you needed to shoot smoke bombs.

Scout rushing and command abuse makes the game so easy.

Just wait until you get Caution. You'll be ignoring crossfire like a boss

Yeah, it's easy. To get Lynn, you need Karl to be KO'd in a fight, and then rescue him. She'll join after that fight.

Same thing happens with getting Emile to join if Oscar is KO'd and rescued. Easy to do in a skirmish, just let them die and pick them up. Nothing lost by doing it.

I like Jane more than Lynn.

Favorites so far other than the mains are Ted, Jane, and Marina. I like Nils too, just because he looks cool, I haven't used him for anything.
