Golden Goal isn't bad at all, if it's time limited. Golden Goal with Extra Time is decent though the idea is it encourages defensive play.

no. you can use your body and tackle and commit a foul. Your hand is not part of the game of soccer outside setting up a free kick or being a goal keeper. It'd be like slapping the baseball out of the first baseman's glove like arod tried to do in the 2004 ALCS vs boston. Stupid BS that doesn't belong in the game.

Destroying a catcher at home plate? Fair game since it is commonly accepted nowadays, despite being outside the rules.

But now you're making a distinction between what rules are OK to break and what rules aren't OK to break.

Personally I think potentially hurting someone is worse than putting your hand in the way, but ultimately they come to the same thing. It's still breaking the rules. Both are in some ways "morally" wrong or whatever but if it's about breaking the rules and taking a Red to help the team, I don't see where the difference lies.

there's a difference between putting your hand in the way and swatting at it as if your hand is a tennis racket

tackling is part of the sport and it's not as if she 100% tried to murder her. She dedicated hoping a move wouldn't be made and risked it, smartly.

Tackling is part of the game, fouling is part of the game, handballs are part of the game.

If you deliberately break the rules, the only thing that matters after that is the severity of the punishment (in this case they were the same). If it comes down to deliberately getting yourself red-carded to save the team from losing in a huge match, I don't see how you can make a distinction between the two where one is OK and one isn't.

it's like I said before. Even though DIRTY tackling is a foul, tackling is not. Intentional, non intentional (body flailing) are always fouls for handballs. The only time a handball is not a foul is if you never acted and it was shot right at it and you're stationary or your hands are to your side. A handball is ALWAYS a foul if you've done something a wrong, a tackle is not since sometimes a tackle can be right, whereas a handball can never be right and the only time it is "right" is if it isn't really a handball since the ball was shot at your hand.

to me this is a great distinction. Tackling has been a part of the game for years and unless it's like an American football tackle where the person lunges and destroys the person, it's fair game. A sliding challenge is a sliding challenge. Batting the ball like it's volleyball is a complete bastardization of soccer, period.
