One of my doctors came in and said that my hemoglobin dropped to 6.8/6.9. My heart's still acting strongly though, so he's not jumping over transfusions yet.

Yeah, I'm supposed to be getting 1 unit of blood in a bit now.

Hopefully it'll make me feel better! Just have to watch out for potential zombification (this could be infected blood here).

At this point, it's looking like I can either take injections that can cause cancer or go to school and be miserable with my condition.

Ouch, man. I had the option to take Remicade for my UC, but the side effects (and cost) scared me off so I put it off and hoped for the best, and I eventually got better...."better" being the key word, but good enough that Remicade is no longer a recommended option.

I have heard that it works wonders, though, assuming you don't get any of the really bad side effects.

and my doc has told me that my colon looks like raw hamburger meat before, so i feel you there!

I got one Remicade treatment early after being diagnosed, but with other complications that came up I ended up getting a lot of surgery instead.

I'm pretty much all clear now though, haven't had any signficant flare ups in years.

Probably lucky. I remember the Remicade being expensive as hell.

That said, it's really hard with Crohn's to give much advice as it varies so much person to person, and even over time with one person.

More like lack of treatment related.

My intestines pretty much ulcerated and started bleeding throughout my abdomen.

Mostly because I was so used to the pain by the time that I was diagnosed that I thought it was normal, so I didn't report it until I literally couldn't walk.

As a fellow Board 8er with Crohn's you have my fullest sympathies. I've been somewhat lucky so far (1 treatment of Prednisone helped). However, my father's Crohn's is fairly extreme and I'm just hoping that with proper treatment and a lot of luck I can avoid the complications that he has had.

When I was hospitalized I was massively dehydrated. It took them 7 tries to get an IV going. I looked like a heroin addict with Parkinson's.

Great, I passed out in the bathroom and hit my head on the toilet flusher thing. I'm now labelled as a Fall Risk. I'm not really injured from the fall though, slight split in my lip.
