I never have. For reference, the worst movie I've seen in theaters is probably Batman and Robin. Even back then, I recognized it was terrible immediately, but I can't remember any booing.

MarvelousGerbil posted... Nope, just those pointless clappers. I guess people are more willing to be obnoxious with a positive attitude than a negative one.
wait what does clapping post-movie actually bother you
Booing: They were showing trailers, and this one trailer came on that looked kinda bad, and then M Night Shayamalan's name popped up and the whole theater groaned. Doesn't really count, but it was still hilarious/awesome.
Clapping: A couple of movies shown at my school's little theater have had ovations at the end, but that's mostly because it's just a bunch of college kids who will go crazy for anything.

From: voltch | #005 Blazer have you ever found yourself to be the only guy in the theatre watching the movie?
Not quite. Closest was with X-Men back in 2000. I was really bored one day during summer vacation and just walked over to the nearby theater to watch it myself. There were maybe 3-4 other people in there.

StealThisSheen posted... So does that mean you never cheer for sports or anything on TV, either.
Obviously. Why do you think the English get so charged up at real games?

It's hard to believe no one has ever heard clapping at a movie either. I mean, don't you guys go to midnight premiers? That's the best time to catch rampant applaud.

Congratulations, LMS. In a topic where Liquid Wind said that women shouldn't be allowed to vote, you are still the worst poster in this topic. - kevwaffles
From: Emporer_Kazbar | #024 I remember a lot of groans after the trailer for Red Riding Hood. That's as close as it's come.
Same for me. Although I didn't really get it because I honestly didn't think it looked that bad. I mean I've seen the reviews now and I'll believe them, but I didn't find the trailer to be groan-worthy. Maybe I was high, I can't remember.
When I went to see Scott Pilgrim they showed the trailer for Devil. When M. Night Shamalaymalan's name came up everyone groaned and/or booed, then someone yelled "OH GOD DAMMIT!" and everyone started laughing.

Worst movie I've seen in theaters is The Happening. By the end of the movie there was no one left to boo. Half the the theater emptied out before it was even over.
