seriously tho, thats pretty embarassing. I totally though I had Short Blades cause I almost always use daggers or short swords, no matter the character. Unless its an archer (Never been one for the BIG SMASHY GUY).
Oh well. I use enchanted daggers anyway, I think I'm going poison with this current one, although I might go my usual route of enchanting it with Drain Life. Or something else altogether.
Saw this topic a little while ago, and I actually started a new character about a couple weeks ago (xbox). This game is actually so goddamn fun. I got Oblivion a while back, but I never got into that game like I did with Morrowind. Looking forward to Skyrim when it comes out too.
My character (Obould Many-Arrows) is level 9 right now, and going through various guilds. Haven't touched the main quest yet, aside from talking to Caius initially. Because I'm bored and just turned on the game again, here's my character and everything related:
Name: Obould Many Arrows Race: Orc Specialization: Combat Sign: The Lady (yeah, outta character, but I liked the buffs) Level: 9
Major Skills:
Security: 35 Short Blade: 30 Destruction: 33 Heavy Armor: 60 Blunt Weapon: 44
Thieves: Blackcap (done all of Habasi and Aengoth's quests) Temple: Novice (just joined, will get the pilgrimage done later) Fighters: Swordsman (done all of Eydis Fire-Eye's quests) Blades: Novice Imperial Legion: Knight Errant (done all of Darius and Radd's quests) Mages: Evoker (done all of Ajira and Ranis's quests)
Basing this character off of one from a book series. It's not completely accurate, but it's close. Man this game is awesome.

Overpowered? Pfft. I STILL WANT MORE POWER! To zip across Morrowind in only a few seconds, to pickpocket without any hassle (Seriously, what's up with pickpocketing in this game?), to enchant without failure without chugging potions!
Anyway, I'm playing...
Name: Zhien Drek Longheart Race: Argonian (DRAGONS! Well, lizard, but who cares) Spec: Stealth Sign: Atronach (never tried Atronach, wanted to see if it's as good as they say.) Favored attributes: Strength & Endurance
Majors: Axe Blunt Block Heavy Armor Armorer
Minor: Long Blade Enchant Alteration Restoration Mysticism
The skill choice has little bearing on how I play though. Most of the time I stealth or jump then stab down with my spear like a Dragoon.
You can do both, actually. Once you become Hlaalu Hortator and you're in another house (say, Redoran), if you talk to Duke Vedam Dren he'll name you grandmaster of House Hlaalu in one of the topics, Orvas Dren, I believe. Then you can do the quests, IIRC.
Me, I just installed a mod that let me join all 3.
If you just want to join 1, I like the idea of Redoran, basically warriors with a code. Stronghold wise, I like Redoran's better, but Hlaalu's is pretty close to Balmora. Plus, in Hlaalu, you can actually do Morrowind a huge favor in the final quest.
Name : Sk'Darr Race : Khajit Class : Assassin (My Custom Class) Specialization : Stealth Favored Attributes : Willpower, Agility Birthsign : The Thief (Modded version) I think it Akavari-Danger sense which is 15 pts of Sancturary constantly.

I'd rather play the game the way it's intended, and I have the Morrowind Code Patch as well as the Morrowind Patch Project on my game so this bug probably doesn't exist anymore.
I'll go Hlaalu I think. fits my character more, basically a thief with a hatred for slavery.
I think technically, Redoran would work best for my character. But man. Telvanni has always been my choice. Sick rewards, unreal stronghold (though the location is slightly annoying), I've always chosen it. Will be hard to shy away from it this time, not sure if I'll do it yet or not...

Telvanni's stronghold is super awesome, but man is it a ***** to get there
I don't know if Hlaalu is really a good fit for someone who hates slavery though. Sure, one specific person who gives you a small handful of business for Hlaalu is vehemently anti-slavery, but Hlaalu is very much about exploitation of others and embraces Imperial points of view, and the legitimacy of slavery is one of those. Though yes, one of those last Hlaalu quests that Duke Dren gives, depending on how you do it, deals major blows to slavery in Morrowind.
Man its hard to level up Sk'Darr, with no weapons on. I dun goofed up. Still a fun challenge I guess, and something different. Even If Ia m still using my ol' Ebony Dagger
I got mostly imperial templar armor, with imperial steel boots and pauldrons, steel tower shield, and the masque of clavicus vile (sp?). Doing the imperial legion quest that'll take me to that daedric ruin northwest of Hla Oad though, so maybe something will show up there!

Only real upgrade from that daedric place was my new orc warhammer, which replaces my steel one. Now to Assumanu to get some token of some sort, and it's in the middle of nowhere. I love how this is kind of becoming a semi-playthrough topic for a few people.

Note to myself : If you use Better bodies do no fight naked men who use hand-to-hand when family members are close, because you'll have a close up of said naked men dicks if you fall down.
Also started again, but not really with an Illusionit character, something else entierly.
Dunmers and Female Bosmers are pretty damn awesome, they fit my playstyle the best too. Next are Nords and Argonians, I love them too but mostly because of their culture and the Argonians have some kind of charm imo. Last of the races I care about are Altmers.. I would totally play one but the crippling weaknesses and low starting strength make it really really hard. The other races I don't care much about. Also I really hate male Bosmers.
Balmora #1 for obvious reasons. Easy to get there, your first destination in the Main Quest, where you go back to after almost every part of the Main Quest, lots of services all close to one another. This city is home to me ! Caldera and Vivec are next, Caldera has something special about it, it's a really well done town and I like it a lot. Vivec gets a lot of hate for being confusing and too big but I really like it, there are tons of things to do and see and I have yet to see it all, it's just so big, but it's great that way. Ebonheart so low is just because the city feel pretty empty, there's not a whole lot to do in there if you don't join the imperial factions. Still love the town though !
Hmm.. I think I'll move the difficulty slider totally to the right, I don't know if the difference between normal and max difficulté is huge but we'll see !
Done with Morrowind. Man, it's a good thing I had that high of strength, assaulting Dagoth Ur and the citadels around it gave me lots of crap to haul around. Done with all factions and the main quest, along with all quests that give reputation (though apparently I'm missing 1 point. Oh well, 172 fame is enough). Time to go to Mournhold and start Tribunal!
Already done it! But man, keeping everybody alive is a hassle.
There was this one time I swam to Firemoth before I had the quest, since I was wondering what that island was. Then I went and swam to Solstheim because I was curious again XD
Scamp is awesome though I don't go out of my way to use it, if I happen to have loot to sell while I'm in Caldera I'll go there, but only if I don't have stuff to buy too.

You should consider downloading Tamriel Rebuilt after you're done with Tribunal and Bloodmoon, it adds a landmass roughly as big as Vvardenfell with quests and stuff.
First two maps are completely Telvanni centered though, so expect wizards and mushrooms.
I don't know, it seems pretty sure that it will pass Oblivion but stuff like Fast travel and the Magic compass are back so my hype level is dwindling. Still, if they make the compass not the only way to get **** done then it could be alright. Gameplay looks great at least !

Best LPer ever, Gix ! : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt5YKmP7ecY
I heard that the compass in Skyrim will be different, like you have to cast a spell to be able to see it or something like that.
And yeah FIremoth is ****ing fun as hell, especially if you're strong enough to kill a skeleton in one arrow shot. It is so satisfying to pick off a huge group of them one by one from a distance. I wish there were more dungeons like that place in the game. I've never managed to keep any of the people alive though, I can keep them safe up until the very last fight and then they just get demolished by the boss. I think one of them actually gets one-shotted by the spells.
