I'm looking to get one, and I've been browsing different sites for reviews/opinions so I figured I ask here too. I think I've narrowed down to the LG C3 or the Samsung S90C, anyone here have any thoughts?

I got a 55" LG C3 during the last Black Friday. I use it both for gaming and watching on-demand stuff. I don't really know how it compares to other OLED TVs, but I do know that an OLED screen is certainly pretty to look at. Lots of nice sharp edges and no pixel bleed. Unfortunately, it does mean that watching older stuff can look a little blurry, even in HD, although I guess that's more due to the size of the screen. It does have an AI upscaler to make low resolution video look a little better, but I didn't like how it looked. It also has a function that can increase the framerate of stuff, but again, mixed. When I was looking at reviews, I heard people complaining about the sound and recommended getting a soundbar, which I did, but honestly it's fine without it, unless you're an audiophile, I guess.

yeah sound bar is definitely an upgrade, but I didn't bother because I'm usually just using it for gaming and I have a headset on

Do you see a big improvement in the quality of the TV between your OLED and (what I assume you had before) an LCD tv?

It's a pretty stark visual difference, especially in darker images/blacks. Personally i've been waiting for the price of OLEDs to come down, but I do very much want one as my next TV (maybe this year or next)

My parents have a C1 and it's great.
I have the 42" C2 as my computer monitor and I think it's awesome.

I went from a Plasma, to a gaming monitor LED, to a OLED. OLED and Plasma are comparable for black level. Both are significantly better then the LED. It should be noted that OLED TV's don't get quite as bright, if that matters. Also, do note. Just by the nature of how they work, they can burn in and eventually will fade away (Even if it takes an eon). But the newer the TV the less likely those things will happen (Kind of like how plasma's were before they stopped making them).

Also, this guy compares the two https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XiT2QXNj4kw
Also also, never call out a Samsung Tech lol. They may put a knife to your TV when you aren't looking.
Also also also, I think LG supplies the other companies with the screens, no?

I had an LG Nano75 (2021) that was definitely acceptable but it didn't have stuff I wanted like hdmi 2.1 and variable refresh rates. I got a C3 and I was worried it wouldn't be a noticeable enough difference to justify the cost, but it's significantly better. I don't really know how much of a difference the 120hz makes on ps5 and series x games but the contrast, deep blacks, and brightness are incredible. I honestly don't think there's a better option for gaming right now

Yeah, this is the one thing stopping me from upgrading to an OLED. I don't want all my Switch games to look worse. ;_;

Once you go OLED, you don't go back. The black levels and picture quality are simply unmatched.

the race for achieving more brightness in oleds as of late (due to samsung mostly) hasn't really appealed to me personally, but i will say that i am keeping an eye on panasonic's z95a, which (as is typical for panasonic flagship models now) comes with a built in sound system that remains leagues ahead of the others, rendering sound bars non-essential. with this new model though they apparently jumped ship to a less dated OS so I'm waiting to hear if it's particularly good and responsive

The soundbar I currently use is even older than my tv. I got it like 10 years ago on clearance at an Ollies lol. I wouldnt not be surprised if the new tv I buy genuinely sounds better out of the box than what I have right now

Age isn't typically a bad thing for speakers.
