IIRC, the most recent contracts for The Simpsons' VAs were written up before AI really became a thing, so I suspect Disney might try to "recast" vacated roles with it.

They'll find someone with similar voice and noone will notice.

Rick and Morty changed actors and if you didn't know about it, you wouldn't have noticed while watching the last season.

I hadn't seen the show in ages so decided to watch a recent clip and... dear lord, Marge sounds like Patty or Selma now, and they're supposed to sound rough AF from all the chain-smoking.

It's even funnier when their long time purple hair was revealed to just be ashes from all the smoke they make smoking all the time they're naturally a blonde and a redhead which calls into question if they all have the same father or not, then again it could have just been a gag canonicity is rather non existent in the show as is, Marge and Homer started out as being teenagers in the 60s to early 70s with Homer's dad having fought in World War 2

and? replacing an human actor that can't act anymore or is retiring or even dead for another human actor and you will still have an human actor getting paid for his work, not sure what your point even is

shows have had new voice actors replacing other voice actors that for some reason couldn't continue playing the character and nothing bad came from that, heck even japan has done it not sure why the simpsons are so stubborn with that we could have the characters go on instead of killing or making the characters disappear even shows have gone on without the creator

They will be the first actors to sell their complete voice profile rights to be used as AI.

It will start the trend for other VAs to do so. The next being Terra Strong.

The show will end. 14 Simpsons-related Spinoffs will start production starring completely unrelated people where Disney tries to strip any bit of heart the show has managed to hang on to in the last 30 years. Matt Groening and anyone else involved with the original show will be left on read.

Like the guy who made Spongebob really didn't want silly spin offs about them being kids or whatever, Nick waited for him to die and then proceeded to do exactly that.
