Pretty much an atheist, found a "Center for Spiritual Awakening", sounded interesting but it seems like a regular ass church, just worshipping nature and some New Age concepts rather than any specific deity or religious system. But this sort of organized philosophical stuff seems like it is still inherently somewhat dogmatic and presumes that members have a common vision about what existence or higher planes of existence are... which means to really enjoy the community you'd have to buy into what they're selling, which is still not concentrated on individuality despite how it might be advertised.

So anyway.

Should I check it out again, seems like it could be at least a better fitting community than what mainstream religions offer but idk.

We suffer from the delusion that the entire universe is held in order by the categories of human thought.

As an atheist(though I guess agnostic fits me a little better), spirituality is refreshing in the sense that it doesn't need to be analyzed. It is what it is on the sticker, generally speaking. It's also good if you struggle with feeling like you need to control or plan for everything.

I thought it was bs when i first went but in the end it helped me out with some stuff.

I'm agnostic as well. What "it" helped you specifically? I was a Buddhist for several years and still miss the sense of community it offered.

I feel like spirituality is sought because to many it seems there is either something more to the universe or the human soul.

How quaint.

Massive control freak(only in regards to my own life thankfully). Everything had to be structured. Never realized how much I was missing out on by skipping over the "now." Also way less stressful. Not sure where I went was any specific belief set, but it helped me realize that.
