I saw Flight of the Conchords at Wolf Trap, I was in the third row from the front. They had a guy playing the violin for them that they called the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.

roger waters was also really fucking good.

actually a perfect circle was probably my favorite. the other two were arguably better shows, but driving out to colorado and everything being outside and all the people being really friendly and awesome kinda bumps it up a lot.

Nine Inch Nails has awesome concerts even if you're not into the music.

Erasure tends to be a bit of an experience as well if you don't know what to expect going in.

Besides small local bands, the only live shows I've ever seen were random Japanese groups at anime conventions. I didn't actually know any of them beforehand, but I did enjoy the ones I saw, including Destrose, Avanchick, and Mika Kobayashi.

Rise Against, one of my favourite bands of all time.

Fat Freddy's Drop (NZ jazz/dub/reggae) group was great as well. They held a concert at a vineyard.

Smashing Pumpkins, seen them twice. Both times was amazing. Would go again if they ever came back to my area (they have only done it twice in 30 years)
Lamb of God and Megadeth were both pretty good too. Saw them together last year.

Wynton Marsalis when he played at Ravinia in Evanston, Illinois. After a jazz fusion band, which sounded terrible btw, finished, he took the stage and announced that he played 'real' jazz (or words to that effect but can't remember the wording exactly). He then proceeded to play 2 hours worth of jazz that more than made up for the terrible jazz fusion band that had been his warm up act.

Weird Al has been my favorite performer I saw live; I saw him live thrice. Iron Maiden comes second for me. Then a handful of local band shows where I grew up. Then basically everyone else I've ever seen (even No Doubt and U2).

Weird Al

Seen him 3x. His regular tour, strings attached, and the one with all originals. Always a very good time. Harvey the wonder hamster was my favorite individual song I saw live

Modest mouse is my favorite band. I've seen them a half dozen times now.

Tool is the best performing band I ever saw. Amazing show. Saw them twice, the second time was mostly newer stuff I didn't know and I still loved it. Danny Carey playing Pneuma live was mind blowing

In addition to these, CKY and Radiohead were also a lot of fun

Weird, looks like they haven't done any performances in 5 years. Did something happen?
