it sucks gamefreak refuse to end cat lines in non-bipedal forms now but still cats (especially on the basis you can also throw in some of the better eeveelutions for sure, arguably shinx or litleo or solgaleo and i guess also the legendary beasts)

Going to need a larger breakdown of cats and dogs here cause it isn't always clear.

My instinct says the Lycanroc's just give the winners to dogs but theres definitely a lot of good cats.

I like cats better than dogs but Poke-cats are usually pretty weak.

Also where is Growlithe!

How could you leave the best boy Arcanine off the canines list? He's the only one with canine in his name!

Also it can get pretty heated if we debate about some Pokemon...like the legendary beasts, Elektrike, the Eeveelutions...but feel free to do so if you'd like. I personally just count the relatively clear and cut cases.

I'd say dogs. Cats have some good starters, but dogs have some great non-starters.

Well doggo list has Houndoom, Lycanroc, and of course best boy Arcanine so you know where I gotta go.

Cats like Luxray and Skitty made me at least stop and think about it first

Oh average the dogs are much much better than the cats. Game Freak does a pretty bad job with most of their cats.

i never thought about this, but i guess it is dogs pretty easily, even though i am a major cat person IRL. but cat's irl cuteness doesn't translate to these pokemon designs, i'm not even sure i can think of any cat pokemon i really like.

God, pure dark Purrloin without a dark attack until after it would evolve. Nothing against their designs, but the "just a cat" lines are often not something you'd want on your team.

Cats do have Meowth from the anime, though. That has to count for something.

The Espurr line alone is better than every dog Pokmon by a significant margin so cats.
