I really hope that Batgirl movie gets leaked somehow and it ends up being better than the stuff that didn't get canned

The Flash had a huge marketing and hype push before release and then sputtered out of the gate, so there's no reason to think Blue Beetle won't do a anything but a fraction of that business.

It looks like a CW show.

Every time I hear this movie title I think it is a movie about Harry Dresden's car.

I think Aquaman is toast, and people are over this moment of DC and are ready for the new Gunn universe to start. It's hard watching a new DC movie like Flash knowing it's mostly gonna all end and reset soon and caring.

I pretty much expected that. I don't think there's a superhero film disinterest, but there definitely is for late DCEU films. Audiences already know none of these movies matter and that they're just shuffling them out to get them out of the way.

Whether the movie is good or not, no one is going to care about Blue Beetle unless he gets incorporated into a more well-liked universe.

The thing is that Blue Beetle really is part of the" New era". Its trying for the Spiderman thing with a young kid with new power, AND the Iron Man kind of direction to.

In theory it should get some hype, I fear they really needed a better enemy, DC's had to many generic CEO enemies for some reason in there movies as of late.

Does feel like DC is just auto rejected at this point and that's a problem.

Seriously, everyone keeps saying " DC is only Batman and Superman." And now we have a movie that is like that AND is like the Marvel movie style that everyone wants and its still like," LOL just do Batman." It really feels like there's nothing they can do at this point.

DC movies should be clasified as explosive devices not movies at this point.

DC does a really, really bad job at marketing any superhero movie that isn't Batman-related.

And even in the case of The Flash, it wasn't enough.

I think it's time for DC to give up getting into super hero movies anymore I don't even think Gunn can save them at this point

I saw a preview for this when I went to see Dial of Destiny, and there were people all around me asking what Blue Beetle is. I heard one woman behind me say: Is Blue Beetle some kind of Transformers?.

This movie was always going to have a hard road-not enough people are aware of DC properties beyond Batman, Superman etc.

I like Blue Beetle but the movie is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Almost zero advertisement, just a few months after The Flash, right before the universe reboot. Beetle could have been something special but DC just fails to advertise a young Latino superhero with the wit of a Spider-Man.

It just looks like Shazam again, except it's blue iron man.

If you want Blue Beetle, or any other sort of unknown DC character, you have to sort of introduce them in another more popular film.

To be frank DC's track record isn't good enough to warrant hype for movies like this. They don't have the trust of the audience. If people aren't expecting a good movie and it's a character they don't know why would they care?

People trust James Gunn a lot more so when his stuff starts releasing the interest for the more minor characters should return.

Also it's starting to look possible people aren't bothering with the MCU as well if it's not the major characters.

DC is just dead. After Jack Snyder, multiple controversies with actors, zero direction, and REPEATED movie failures back-to-back, the reputation is just completely tarnished. There's no way DC live-action is coming back.

These movies fail the box office not necessarily because the movies are bad (bad movies pull hundreds of millions or even billions all the time), people simply aren't even going out to buy tickets for DC anymore. It's decided in advance that the movies aren't worth watching. The public has lost interest. It's over.

Once the new James Gunn continuity hits, there's a decent chance. That new Batman from last year did reasonably well, too. The main problem is that the movies they've been focusing on lately haven't exactly been superb. The last good DC movie other than The Batman was Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Tbf,the first Shazam and the second Suicide Squad movie are probably the two best movies from the entire DCEU

Ehhhh... Shazam is okay. A little too goofy and childish at times, which is to be expected because of the premise, but still.

It's not that Blue Beetle can't be good or successful, but there's no goodwill for DC. Snyder torpedoed this universe from day one with Pa Kent's suicide and never let up on the suck.

Marvel at least established themselves as a consistent brand before digging up their C-List characters so people were actually excited for GOTG and Ant-Man.

Gunn should bring a much needed burst of energy when he gets his stuff rolling but right now this stuff is DOA.

Surprised Warner Bros doesn't make these smaller hero movies into shows. Like Marvel did with Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones.

The problem with the DCEU can basically be tracked to WB somehow thinking Snyder was going to be a comparable replacement for Nolan.

By the time they realised they hitched their wagon to a guy who thinks it's deep that Superman doesn't want to save cats from trees and Batman can get raped in prison it was too late.

With huge TVs and home theater sound systems being as cheap as they are nowadays, most people will probably skip the theater and just watch them on Max 3 months later anyway.

They've actually had to make Max worse to help the cinema business lol. The WB film library is far and away the best library out there. They need to put more classic films on there. Why the hell can't I watch Adventures of Robin Hood?

I hate to say it, but both WB and Disney should probably focus their efforts on streaming for all but their most high-profile projects. At least when it comes to their franchise flicks.

Part of the problem with modern Hollywood are these bloated budgets for movies that really don't need it and can't be expected to make the budget worth it. Smaller projects for streaming for the less guaranteed hits (such as Blue Beetle) is probably the best approach.

The DCEU really died when Justice League happened but it was doomed from the start with Man of Steel.

WB executives and Zack Synder killed the whole thing in just 10 years....a legacy of failure the DCEU is...

Beetle and Aquaman 2 are just the rest of the carcass being picked over until they truly start over...

Best they can hope for now are that the movies are good, because they are not making any bank...

That's what they were doing with the Arrowverse for over a freaking decade with guys like Arrow and Black Lightning, though Flash having a show for nearly ten years did not seem to help hype the movie at all.

I think there are a lot of reasons why The Flash movie didn't do well. I don't think people were crazy about Ezra Miller in the role even before all the legal shenanigans.

There was a significant fan campaign to convince the studio to cast Grant Gustin, from the CW show, to play The Flash in the films.
