26 states have permitless carry.
22 are permit only.
North Dakota is permitless for residents only and Louisiana has a few different distinctions on who can w/o a permit.

But I know it's convenient to blame DeSantis for anything and everything.

every confrontation has the potential to be someone's death these days just because people can't talk things out, and are too egotistical to walk away.

Both of those groups deserve their entire family trees to be taken out in front of their eyes. Then starve to death in solitary confinement. A fist fight is one thing but now people are using guns instead. And the victims werent even a part of it. My heart breaks, that grandfather wishes it was him instead of the boy for sure. I would.

I for one think that gun violence that is a direct result of any random dipshit being allowed to carry a gun on them at all times should be attributed to the politicians that instituted those policies and/or the politicians that make no effort to change those policies

both? following the law enabled these people to bring their guns to the beach, then someone broke the law when they started using the gun. if these people were not legally permitted to carry, this probably would not have happened.

No one would have "accidentally" beat the child to death.

It two groups got in a heated exchange and then both groups took it upon themselves to pull out a grandfather and child from a nearby car and punch them to death. I think that would still be a story. Just how likely do you think this scenario is?

It's obviously both. No one knows if the gun was legal or not, the fact that it was there in the first place facilitated the killing of that boy. Guns are the problem. "There wouldn't be a story" of course there wouldn't be, because no one would be fuckin dead.

It's not about guns at all for me. It's about freedoms.

I do not accept that guns are the guarantor nor the magical totem of freedom. I reject the notion that you are more 'free' with a gun.

I do realise that such beliefs are deeply ingrained in American culture, and I have no realistic hope that that will change any time soon.

But for a politician to worsen the situation by relaxing gun laws is despicable and makes them culpable in the deaths that result.
