I love all the Smash games equally, personally. Each one might be better than the last, but they basically give me the same feelings I had the first time I played them. Plus, they have unique strengths in some ways too.

if only there were some way you could figure out the relative ranking of each game within a specific series from the mixed data, but you'd probably need a supercomputer processing 100 parallel matrix algorithms or a fully fledged neural network to sus out that information

Probably best to wait two weeks until the series finale airs in Japan to do that tbh.

Based on regions/arcs, however... from what I have seen:
Sinnoh > Kanto > Journeys* > Battle Frontier > Kalos > Alola > Unova > Johto > Orange > Hoenn

*May rise/fall depending on how the last two episodes go.
Kanto would be #1 if Ash got more gym badges legitimately and the league was more satisfying.
