I've used it multiple times, tho never been the one to actually book it

The best one I stayed at was in Hawaii. Not because the place itself was the fanciest/nicest, but because the host was so sweet and p much the epitome of Hawaiian aloha attitude. Brought over ice and chocolates during our stay at no additional cost.

Why did you throw that in. What does it have to do with Airbnb experiences. At least go after their cleaning fees or something that is more related to the experience.

Yeah I can understand that. But only reason we are thinking of using it because we want to get off cheap. The property and host we thinking about seems allright tho.

Im just reading that if things do go awry somehow Airbnb doesnt help, lots of hidden rules that overide their promises on the site etc.

Its usually a good deal if you can get a group to split it.

some spots have absurd cleaning fees.

Also, as with renting a car, if you see some shit like a dent in the wall or something when you first get in, make sure to report it ASAP so they don't try to pin it on you for extra fees

I use Airbnb 2 weekends out of the month and I had nothing but great experiences. Just make sure to book a place with a lot of good reviews

Every place I've stayed at was pretty nice but I can never get all that comfortable staying in some person's house. I'm always paranoid that they're secretly watching me, even if it's just a doorbell camera

i've had mostly good experiences with it. two times I booked a room months in advance, only to have the host cancel on me a few weeks before the event. that's never ever happened with a hotel.

It used to be cheaper than staying in a hotel, now it's almost the same price so I just book a hotel instead.

Cleaning fees were $40 its not that bad. Has good reviews but not many reviews. Well well see if it blows up in our face. It checks the boxes we wanted while being cheaper than hotels and appartments (in Spain).

We dont want a hotel anyway, we are staying 2 weeks and want to be able to cook and stuff.

I've stayed at a couple of places that were condo type vacation rentals. I didn't have any issues but also wasn't the one paying.

Same here, except only one cancelation, really close to our date.

It's a really nice and affordable solution to staying somewhere while traveling. You get way more perks out of it compared to a hotel. The options available are huge as well.

Like others said though, there's a lot of protection for airbnb, so just check reviews.

The last airbnb I used the only bedroom had a massive crack 8 feet long in the ceiling. Which, would mean massive foundation issues for the home. Wife wouldnt stay. Three weeks later that ceiling completely collapsed in the house.

Airbnb made me pay full price for the cancellation and deemed it not a major issue. Still wont refund even with the story showing the ceiling collapsing

The only time I've had a good experience at an AirBnB was in Mexico with a private owner who was very transparent about what the property included. It was also like 1/10 the price of a US stay and twice as many rooms.

All these other places I've stayed in the US are either owned by huge companies that don't even take care of the property correctly or private owners that misrepresent the amenities.

we used one when we went on a family trip to Australia. That's the only experience I have with it.

Place was nice, and we didn't have any problems with fees or anything afterwards. At least I don't think we did.
