And I am fine with this restaurant refusing this couple too, and hope they tell all their friends and this restaurant gets alot less customers.

This isnt a good idea period regardless if its a bakery or a restaurant. If i was in business i would take all comers. Even if i was religous it wouldnt be a sin to make a cake for gay people. I dunno. I dont get it.

Pretty sure it's gonna get more after this. It goes both ways. They can't discriminate and then cry about it when the same thing happens to them. And it was a religious group not a couple

"Have you ever been denied a meal because of your beliefs? Last night, our team and supporters got that firsthand experience when Metzger's Bar and Butchery in Richmond, VA refused to service our pre-reserved event, leaving us scrambling just moments before," Victoria Cobb wrote.
Cobb said one of the restaurant's owners called her to cancel the reservation about an hour and a half before the event was set to begin.
She compared the experience and today's cultural climate to "the 1950s and early 60s, when people were denied food service due to their race."

They're perfectly cool with other businesses denying service to the LGBTQ community, though. SMH

That experience is not the same at all and it pisses me off that she's trying to compare this to the racism that people of color experienced back then.

No I'm saying no one believes Christians should be refused service on the basis of them being Christian. They are being refused for supporting legislation that allows LGBT+ to be refused.

Im guessing the person who took the reservation either didnt care and was going though the motions or were not aware of who was making the reservation. And then when they showed up someone who is aware of who they are refused service.

it seems like they didn't know until that day. it's not uncommon for a big party to make reservations and have the whole staff not even know about it until the day before. obviously the managers and whoever know, but they don't really announce that to everyone weeks ahead of time

It's always noteworthy how the people who try the hardest to diminish the rights of others are the loudest to cry foul whenever they are denied anything.

Comparing a businsess not allowing your activist group meeting to Jim Crow racial segregation is madness

100% agree that this should happen more often. disagree that the laws should be updated to prevent this type of discrimination. bigotry should not ever become a 'protected class'. we should always be free to reject people and discriminate against them based on abhorrent choices they have made. you make a choice to be part of a group that advocates bigotry? GTFO and stay out.

Think the argument is that gay people are who they are. Like, you cant not be gay. But you can turn off being a hatful pos

With that said, Im in support of restaurants refusing service to whoever they want. If that makes them horrible people, the public will find out and the place will go under
