Captain Falcon and Samus were going to be part of my nominees but since they were already there I put up SA-X and Ridley. If there weren't already 100something characters (close to max I think) I would have nominated more Metroid characters.

Been voting Capt Falcon first in almost every round. Happy with the result!

Knowing nothing about this I still figured CE saved Captain Falcon before clicking the topic lol.

First post specified that the final round would last 24 hours. The final Zelda vote was cast 24 hours and a few seconds later, so it didn't count. The post saying voting was closed was an announcement, not a declaration.

It was disappointing to have, once again, three characters going into the top twelve and come up short.

What percentage of Captain Falcon voters have even touched an F-Zero game?

The dudes car shows up in more games than him.

Im impressed he won.

It's still a shock that Donkey Kong went out int he fifth round, but lately the fifth round is when a big character goes out. Mewtwo, Pit and Fox were other surprising early boots.

Not gonna lie, I think Hand in Toilet stayed in way too long.

As for my guys. They did horrible this go around, K.K. Slider doing the best at 47th. Although, if I didn't have Wi-Fi problems, Rango would have stayed in longer. Wish Brycen did better.

Overall it was a great contest though. It was a great final 2, and it would have had a great winner, no matter the outcome.

I'm probably the only person who watched the F-Zero anime in its entirety. Can't complain about Captain taking the win. My nominations all went out too early, with Sothis lasting the longest. Zelda was the 9th in line of my potential nominations, but I didn't bother wasting a nomination on her since I knew someone else would nominate her. Aside from the meme nominations, I didn't dislike anyone nominated so I can't complain about the end results.

I'm sure some who voted for it legit liked it, and I'm sure some voted for it because it was a jokey meme entry. But those just aren't my thing.

Even within the first hour is was pretty close. Sure she surged ahead in the first few minutes but that's all.

Most of my noms got disqualified out of the gate, on the unfortunate side.
On the positive side, the two noms that did get into the comp did quite well and made top 20 (Bayo and Travis Touchdown).

I actually think there was a round early on where Falcon was about to get eliminated and I saved him. lol

I remember ramming him through on a technicality since he is in Smash. Which that rule honestly should've just been limited to the playable roaster since practically any character could qualify, however that was the only blatant exploitation of the rule.

What I can't figure out is how L-Block got through. Tetris isn't any more a Nintendo game than, say, Rolling Thunder, but my Albatross entry was denied. Is L-Block in Smash, too? lol it's not a big deal, just trying to figure things out for the next time.

The requirements were being published by Nintendo and Tetris was published by Nintendo. In fact, Nintendo owned the rights iirc.
Since Rolling Thunder was published by Namco and Tengen it didn't meet the qualification.
