Why should we care if it's just another compilation of games that are already available digitally?

The "added content and features" they haven't told us about yet

So nothing official yet but we might have details on what these extra features are

The product description reveals that each of the classic retro Sonic games included will have brand new opening and ending animations, and will include Classic and Anniversary modes.
The Classic mode will show the game in its original resolution and have limited lives like it did in the 16-bit era.

The Anniversary mode, meanwhile, will give the player infinite lives and will present the game in a new widescreen resolution.

Origins will also include missions, which will allow players to collect coins. These can then be spent in the games Museum mode, to unlock new content, challenges and Special Stages.

The listing on the PlayStation app also appears to imply that a physical release is planned, as it makes reference to owners of a PS4 disc being able to upgrade to the PS5 version.

The product listing also makes mention of new areas to explore. I'm wondering if they restored hidden palace zone in sonic 2

Unlikely, but it would be cool if theyve fully remade 3&K too. Its a bit weird having three remakes and then just the old version of the original. Though, cut content would be neat regardless.

The guy who made Sonic Mania did when he remastered Sonic 2 for the iOS. Its a really sweet how you get to the stage too.

This is great that we're getting a decent collection of these that isn't just running in a cheap background emulator, but man any sign of passion for this is really marred by that putrid Ubisoft version chart they put out.

It's not really a "version" chart, it's a DLC chart. The Deluxe version includes everything, since the first DLC pack is free.

The only part of that I'd actually want is the music, so I'm glad there's a standalone music pack.

Why is Amy being featured so heavily and on the cover? Playable Amy unlock?

Is Sonic CD one of the games since they've shown Metal Sonic, too?

Sonic CD is shown in the trailer as one of the four games included in the package, yeah.

If I only I could buy everything EXCEPT Sonic CD.

Maybe they'll have a DLC pack that just gets rid of Sonic CD.

I did not realize that Sonic CD just looks like a slower crappier version of the original games. In my mind it was some sort of 3D abomination. Maybe I'm thinking of Sonic 3D Blast but that doesn't match the images in my brain either.

Well, of the earlier games, 3D Blast is the one that best fits that description.

I'd rather play 3D Blast TBQH.

CD is a bad game people pretend is good because it's "different".

I feel like CD is pretty low on the totem pole for most people. I'm not a huge fan of it, but it's fine.

I had always wanted the play CD until I actually played CD
