Do you think Putin should be tried as a war criminal?

A Squad of Chechen special forces "Hunters" were unleashed in Ukraine to detain or KILL a set of Ukrainian officials where each soldier was given a special "deck of cards" with ukrainia officials photos and descriptions of them for them to hunt down.

The list of officials and security officers suspected of "crimes" by Russia was handed out.

This comes as Ukraine President, Zelensky said he was target number one for the russian assassins and that his family was number 2

There is speculation those identified were "Nazis" would also be on the hunted list where Putin said a key aim of invading Ukraine was to deNazify the country, ironic given the president is JEWISH

State TV says 45 y/o Ramzan Kadyrov, the republic's leader and close Putin Ally had visited the forces in Ukraine

The 44 y/o President addressed the nation with his cabinet stating he was still in the country and it may be the last time you see him alive as he will fight to the end for the country he loves and asks all people to fight to the bitter end as they will not back down from Russia's advances

The Actor turned Politician won Ukraine election in a landslide in 2019 who originally ran as a JOKE before it became serious when the people saw him as a real politician who ran anti-corruption and as an alternative the pro-russian candidate, Petro Poroshenko. He won 73% of the vote finally ending 15 year rule of a Pro-Russia party

His win made Putin furious as he was seen as the anti-Russia candidate and his attempt to join NATO forced his hand where his dreams of rebuilding the Soviet Russia inches closer away

Do you think Putin should be tried as a War Criminal?

Apparently cluster ammunition has been used, so the list of war crimes keeps growing.

It's interesting how they think. Putin sees all governments as one person. Like Kings of old.
When in reality the president in a democracy is replaceable. Killing them doesn't kill the government.

So let them keep wasting time and resources to kill one man. Ukrainians will fight no matter what.

You'd think the delineation of the two results would unveil the horrendous bias in your outlook, and yet...

I realize the poor optics due to the fact that Putin claims he's fighting Nazis... I just meant it's weird that the trucker convoy of alt-right nutbags got a lot of money so I expect a legitimate crisis should raise more

I mean, the Russians ultimate goal here (assuming the west won't allow full annexation) is to install a favourable puppet government. They aren't just going to kill Zelensky and then call it a day and hope the next guy is kinder to them. They will replace the government.

I'm not sure whether the individuals are still in office, but within the last 10 or 12 years Ukraine had elected officials who described certain groups as "subhuman" and used other troubling rhetoric.

Then there's, you know, this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azov_Battalion

It's a Ukrainian national guard that brandishes Nazi symbols and has been accused of torturing civilians.

In fact, there's a pretty direct and strong Neo-Nazi resurgence in Ukraine

No Americans have to worry about a literal army invading their territory so nice try with the weak comparison.

That being said, there's nothing wrong with defending yourself and your family. The problem in America is that some people have a very loose definition of "self defense".

They absolutely do, considering the US has historically had literal armies invade their territories so nice try.

That said, it mainland invasions are a lot rarer because of our drastically weaker neighbors even before getting into our lack of conflict (at least partly driven by our neighbors being drastically weaker, given the US more power to push the envelope)

Who exactly do Americans absolutely need to be worrying about invading their cities? Canada and Mexico would never attempt it and no one is going to start a naval conflict with America.

History means nothing in this context because America's previous enemies are not a threat anymore, either because America is so much stronger or because no one has a reason to fuck with America.

You said "territories," not cities. That's strike one.

Second, most of America's biggest invasions have been from overseas -- specifically by Britain, by trying to argue, "Well, it can only be Canada or Mexico!" demonstrates a profound historical ignorance (although Mexico has had border disputes with the US in the past).

Third, you rather hilariously think modern warfare is still defined by naval combat. While boats might be used for troop landings, nowadays the biggest use for ships is aircraft carriers.

But, if you want to pigeonhole it into invading cities, the US has seen cities descend into violent, lawless chaos in recent years where civilian firearms were the only thing saving people from being hurt, raped, or even murdered.

Russia? China? Our modern dependency on technology has left us extremely vulnerable. A well executed cyber attack could absolutely cripple this country. A land invasion would be much easier once we're all in the dark.
