Do you think Canada has less freedom than the United States?

An Indian Family of 4 who tried to escape Canada and illegally cross the border into the United States were just MINUTES from crossing the border before they froze to death in frigid -40F temperatures!!

39 y/o Jagdish Patel and his wife, 37 y/o Vaishalben were found dead with their children, 11 y/o daughter, Vihangi and 3 y/o son Dharkmik who made their fatal trek in cold temperatures into the night of Manitoba and in waist deep snow blizzard for 11 hours

They wore winter outfits to make their journey but that was not enough to survive those conditions

The tragic final picture of the family was released to the public of them smiling.

57 y/o Steve Shand from Florida is charged with human smuggling as he had connections to the family who were trying to cross the border and meet up with Shand who was smuggling other indians

The family came from Gujarat who entered Canada on January 12 in Toronto before going to Manitoba. There was no abandoned vehicle on the canadian side of the border as it's understood someone drove them to the border and left.

The father worked as a teacher and farmed land thy owned

Ramandeep Grewl, president of the India Association of Manitoba said there is a common sense of guilt in the region's indian community who said the patels tried to leave canada to find FREEDOM in America

Their deaths are also being investigated back in their home country on who they were in contact with to make this illegal crossing as Manitoba Police said they were heartbroken to find the bodies of children who froze to death and must have been horrific for the family who attempted to leave when crossing borders north is more common than those going south but that nobody would attempt to cross the borders during the winter season

Shauna Labama, a human rights professor said the US is usually easier to get to by land or air but Canada is seen as having fairer refugee policies and doesn't understand why the family who has no ties in America want to go there where crossing south is less common.

Do you think Canada has less freedom than America?

I think people were taken advantage of, under the guise of being granted freedom and another life away from what they viewed as oppressive, and soul crushing.

It doesn't make any sense...

I mean, flip it around - you have some Peruvians in Mexico trying to make the final stretch to the US... but they leave during a border wide Volcano

Why?
