So.... I think I might want to watch one piece. However, with so many episodes to chew threw, I think it makes sense to me to make it like a second-screen thing I watch while doing other things. It will be WAY easier to do this if I watch it in english, which leads me to my question of if the the dub is good or not. Obviously I know about the infamous 4kids dub, and I guess I dont know this FOR SURE, but I thought the whole show has been re-dubbed with a new cast?

Haven't watched much of the Funimation dub, but I imagine it's fine

Looks like they just hit the Zou arc which is about 5 years behind where the japanese version is

yeah between going back and redubbing the 4kids stuff and they also took like 2 years off from 2018-2020 they're still a bit behind

they seem to be going at a rapid pace though they've released about 200 episodes since resuming dubbing

Funimation did a pretty good job, imo, I've watched the first 200+ episodes dubbed as well.

Ive watched the first 516 episodes of the funimation dub. That dub is good, yes.

600 episodes of the dub here and I love it. Granted I'm a pretty dyed-in-the-wool anime dub guy, so I guess maybe you can take that with a grain of salt, but I do think it's one of the better dubs out there anyhow.

Yeah Luffy's voice is the biggest one where I really prefer the sub as I think the dub is kind of annoying.

There are a couple other characters I have real issues with because the dub chose to go with a different style then the sub like Croc and Franky but that is just me not liking a creative decision more than actual quality issues.

dub is great!

They USED to dub the openings and endings too but they stopped after OP4

they kinda started getting subpar so I understand
