I'm conflicted here

I'm as pro vaxx and anti idiot as anyone. I think I'm the most aggressively hostile users to anti vaxxers and covid spreaders on the site with the possible exception of DarkRoast but even they would admit I have them beat on Quantity if not Quality.

That being said the UK conservative government is so bad and awful and corrupt and idiotic and have been for years. They also keep dominating elections despite scandal after scandal and promoting evil and hypocrisy because England loves being right wing so much even if it burns their own face off.

So I can kinda sympathize with the growing rebelious attitude of "Fuck the government I don't care anymore."

And I can't blame the Labour party for embracing it. This is literally their first chance in the 21st century to seriously take some power away from the Tories in England and of course they are going to use it.

It's kinda like being trapped between Godzilla but people keep insisting Godzilla is great even as she destroys the city and people who want to kill Godzilla by firing missiles in random directions and hoping one hits.

They're both idiots and I ordinarily would hate the missile people but I can see why the missile people are doing what they are doing in this circumstance.

I mean christ, people thought Trump was bad. Boris is worse. Priti is worse. They never ever ever followed the rules they imposed on others and drank expensive wine in luxury foreign mansions while the average citizen lost their jobs and homes.

Boris bragged about going to hospitals and shaking hands with everybody who had covid. They had Christmas parties while telling everyone else to fuck off.

They promoted Brexit and lied lied lied lied lied

If anything the UK citizens should be angrier than they are right now.

Ireland too. How the Republic of Ireland aren't furious with England right now is beyond me. If I was Irish I would think of the Tories the same way Sam Houston thought of Santa Anna

lots of people avoid politics but hypocrisy at such a grand level is something everyone intuitively understands and is enraged by when it comes from the leaders as they try to morally coax everyone else.

Especially into countries that don't want you there

You couldnt be more wrong. It's actually mostly white people I see who dont give a shit about the rules.

Even last year, there were barely ANY pubs with white people who would social distance or mask up. While all the asian restaurants around Soho and China town, or near Oxford Street were putting up every precaution imaginable. The difference was night and day in my experience.
