Poll of the Day > Playing FFXIII for the first time and really liking it. The bosses are tough tho

Been a final fantasy fan for most of my life, but I disliked the PS2 games so much that I drifted away from the series

but I just found XIII on Xbox game pass and its really fun. I like the characters a lot (except maybe for the bland names). They arent too whiny or mopey (so far)

and I really like the battle system. Its super easy flowing with switching paradigms on the fly.

But the bosses are extra tough. I think partly because the game has purposely separated all the characters who would have the best chemistry (battle wise)and partly because Im still learning the game (and how to fight bosses)

just fought this crazy airship with multiple turrets and such at the end of chapter 7 (I think) . Could barely stay alive long enough to stat boost my party. Still beat it first try though

fun game so far but chill with spoilers pls.

Try paradigms with a Sab/Syn combo if you havent been already. Made the bulk of the story bosses cake imo. Youll eventually get more freedom with party choice.

Not the best game in the series by a long shot but i liked it well enough.

yup, those are must have for the starts of bosses. I had a sab/synth/medic going for the first couple of minutes and I was barely staying alive lol

i think part of the reason Im liking it is because I havent played one for so long. Its simple enough and looks damn pretty, and way smoother than anything from PS2. Although I still dont like it nearly as much as the SNES and PS ones

I actually like the dark horse of that trilogy the most (XIII-2). I thought the script really suffered in the first game and I didn't like the third game much at all.

They are all worth trying out, though. Definitely won't appeal to everyone, but I don't think they're total trash.

FFX/X-2 and FFXII are awesome. I can't stand FFXIII. To each their own. I consider FFXII the last true FF.

I like 13's boss system since it's about building momentum and then exploiting it when you can
