I appreciate them trying to stay true to the spirit of the anime while still doing its own thing. I'll check it out. Jet is my favorite thing about this so far.

I would like to see a live action Outlaw Star or Trigun next.

Ugh, they should have just made a movie, not a series. It really comes close too. A couple better casting choices, maybe some better direction, and whatever they needed to do to make it all fit and it would've been great.

Like it looks so close to being good, but all the themes looks so off. The actors don't help either. Faye looks so old and so does spike. All while jet is young.

Plus, Spike is close but wrong. Like the actor is playing his character and not him or something. It's just off. It's in the way he talks. It's close to spike but not Spike.

It just makes me wanna rewatch the real thing.

The visuals look amazing. Not sure why people were so up in arms with the previous promo. It was obviously stylized for promo's sake and not for the actual production. This looks great.

Yay, more Marvel humor in everything. Also, the campiness at least is a little more toned down here.

Looks alright, which is still miles better than Death Note or Dragon Ball Evolution at least.

Probably be like a 5-6/10. Fine, but forgettable.

Spike is based on Yusaku Matsuda, a Japanese actor:

What really irks me is how old Spike and Faye are; Spike was 27 and Faye was 23 in the anime, so why the fuck is Spike being played a 50 year old and Faye by a woman in her late 30s? Why is Jet black? Why isn't Faye Asian? The casting is terrible.

He was born on Mars, so his culture won't exactly be the same as Japanese. But he's still based on Japanese young men.

And Jet isn't black. Some say "Race doesn't matter" in that case there's no reason why Spike has to be Asian and you can't cherrypick when it matters. Being true to the source material is relevant.
