Why are they running around while dueling? What happened to just dueling while standing perfectly still on the ground?

And during duels they can find cards on the ground or in trees and shit?

I mean, 5Ds cardgames on motorcycles shtick was stupid as well but at least it still made kinda sense.

Yugioh has always been a complete mess of a series. The original concept was basically Saw and then instead of elaborate traps/games it just turned into a card game with extremely flexible rules.

^ This channel shortens every episode of the original series (who knows how far he'll go before he gets bored or chased off the internet by copyright algorithms) and it does an amazing job of pointing out how arbitrary and inconsistent the whole show is.

At least the motorcycles were cool af. In Arc V they're just running around like idiots and finding cards on the ground for some reason.

But yeah I agree 5ds was a pretty good series.
Such a shame that 4Kids skipped dubbing the last season of 5Ds as well as GX which is inexcusable.

The action duels are my beef with Arc V as well, especially the action cards. The older series never had a problem putting the duelists in dangerous situations without adding acrobatics and interactive monsters. More than that the action cards let the writers be extremely lazy and really takes away any tension; at least the older series (besides Duelist Kingdom) had to establish their asspulls to a degree while Arc V just goes "here's a card from outside the rules to keep the protagonist in the game." Just awful.

Apparently the old way of dueling isn't exciting enough so they have to perform tricks and shit in order for the audience to not lose interest.
